What is your Elite Quirk?

Always honk on entering a system and always refuelling, are those really quirks?

A real quirk is that on the galactuc map I've recently discovered the un/visited star view.

Now my OCD has gotten a solid grip and I cannot allow a red star to sit amongst all the blue ones, it must be visited and fully FSS'd

This means permit systems are a royal pain. I had to visit the wiki to see that some have no known unlock and I'm accepting it.... for now.

I never thought of this as a quirk (till now?) but my commanders won't fly a ship that was built with slave labor. So no Empire ships for me.
Oh that’s niiiice.

I vowed never to have anything except Alliance rank and affiliation.

I managed to get a Clipper when Arissa was coronated. The CG let everyone buy a Clipper without rank, so I did. It came with an Achenar permit and a slavetooth bracelet in the glove box.

But yeah. I have negative Empire Rep and no rank.
Which means of course that I can’t get Hera Tani. So there’s a whole path of Engineering that is locked out.

With the Feds I held no rank for the longest time. But then the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps conducted a year long project to test the locks on the gates of Sol.
Could we get an Alliance faction into Sol?
So as part of that operation I had to join the Fed navy and gain sufficient rank to get into the Fed maximum security prison system in Ross 128.

We flipped that to an Alliance faction. And gained an expansion from there that should have gone into Sol but for the God Lock from Frontier.

I have never owned a ship that has required Fed rank, despite having that rank.
I have never used the Fed engineer in Sol.
I have never been to Sol.

I am an Alliance CMDR and I do not use the services of the Empire or the Federation.

DISCLAIMER: The following is my own personal view and interpretations pertaining to the game. I am not presuming to speak on behalf of any other individual or group. I am not an influencer, content provider or leader of a group and as such, not after upvotes, donations or any from of recognition.

Fair warning, this is intended to be a light hearted post (god knows this forum needs something funny) and I will be poking fun at myself, feel free to poke some back :D

Okay, today's topic is: What is your Elite Quirk, as in what little traits, superstitions or rituals do you have in the game. Here are some of mine:

(1) At the end of each session, I just can't log off. Nope, I have to make sure the ship is lowered into the Hangar (put to bed so to speak), it is fully refueled and rearmed, and the paint and integrity have been attended to so both are sitting at 100%. Yes there are times when I can't do this, either out exploring, or the station doesn't have the necessary facilities. So guess what I do, yep I will log on as soon as possible and try to get to a station to make everything 'perfect' again.

(2) I hate wasted space in the cargo hold, detest it with a passion. I would rather carry something that might cause a loss than carry nothing at all. I spend more time trying to work out which missions to take, to where, what else can I take, if it is a multi-hop run, what can I carry between stations, is there any courier missions I can grab along the way. I put it down to doing something very similar in the Military for over 30 years :D

(3) Although I now predominantly play in Solo, I use to do this in Open as well. I like annoying NPCs, it makes me smile. When doing missions, and I get that oh so common message 'Incoming Enemy Alert', I don't start cracking my knuckles ready for a fight. Nope, I start planning on how I am going to embarrass them, how I will beat their interdiction or how I will submit and then boost away, giving them the middle finger as I disappear into the distance. Yes I know I can easily submit, kill the curs and make come credits but no, I prefer the thought that there are some NPCs just utterly peed off with me, shaking their fists at me as yet again I foil their plans :D

(4) My fleet has to have purpose. I won't buy a ship if I don't have a use for it or can't think of a good future use. I like using ships in ways not normally though of for that ship. For example, my FdL is now related to running those small chain missions and courier mission. My Krait Mk II is now and will only ever be my miner. I just go rid of my slightly modified Sidewinder that I was using as a taxi because now my AspX fills that roll (it was either the Sidewinder or the AspX, one of them was going lol).

Okay, think I have embarrassed myself enough for now
I play ED as a rpg, so I only use web sites if I'm really stuck, tho I'm good with posting questions in the forum (I play it like I'm chatting with other commanders in a spaceport pub!). One thing I definitely won't do is look up double painite or triple LTD hotspots on some website. Those I will have to find by exploring before I can mine 'em. Otherwise it's immersion breaking - I mean who's gonna tell you where their sweet triple LTD hotspot is? If they were dumb enough to do that their spot would be overrun with miners and pirates in no time at all!

Bloody Hell! I think we've been cloned....
1. Check!
2. Yup that's me to a 'T'
3. Apart from Solo = Mobius for me.... that's me!
4. Absolutely... Krait = Miner.... spooky (tho my AspX is my very long distance conveyance)

If you've embarassed yourself... me too ... but I think not. o7

I circumnavigate Primary stars to fly to a Stellar on the far side of a system, by staying on the outside of their orbit lines. (Keeps the FSD at it's maximum)
I also do that, when travelling, unless I'm in the mood for playing slaloms with the orbital lines, . (under one orbit line, over the next, under the third, rinse repear until destination...)

each new ship on the maiden launch, I have to do the full checklist...
I'm actually going to adopt this, and go one further with it, "For IMMURSHON!", to doing preflight checks every time I change ship.

So, tell me.... Who did Haz/High/Low RES's form in the first place?mightn't it have been some miners bragging about their new motherlode sites?
