What sort of design would you like for Alliance ships?

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be :)

Clunky, look like they could fly apart at any time yet have really cool circular engines. Like an retro style human end where the pilot would be only with other non-human elements mixed in different areas of the ship.
Basically something that could tie in with the lore with regards to the Thargoids having helped the Alliance modify their ships., especially regards the engine layout / drives, maybe weapon hardpoints.
If any of that ever comes to fruition.
Would possibly look like a hybrid of new tech and old designs from ships not yet used. Really wouldn't want to see current ships be customized in this way, at least not for the Alliance.

When the Thargoids and the Alliance team up against the Federation and the Empire, I'd like if we get some kind of nice hybrid custom ships. :D

Also, it makes sense why they haven't been implemented yet. ;)

Curves and arches are functional and architecturally more robust and durable, is that in space as well? Or is that just Earth's gravity pushing down, making it robust?
That said, humans generally have a propensity to make luxury vehicles sleek and curved; with military vehicles being box-shaped (except where applicable, of course).

My understanding is that this is generally true for collisions and impact (be it astroids, other ships, or kinetic weapons) and the only time flat panels and corners are useful are in stealth vehicles designed to deflect incoming sensors... not exactly my area of expertise though... but with planetary landings, probably makes sense to maintain aerodynamics huh

Bricks can fly just fine.

Long before SC started to milk money for spaceship designs there were guys like these. Doing it mostly for fun :)

Sadly not much of a trace left (and there was plenty of ships) but this is what still left floating online I guess.

A home brew / dogs breakfast look. We made it all by ourselves. Aysymmetrical.

Agree. We have sleek and elegant. We have functional and bad looking. What we need now is Lankton boxy with parts welded on to the extreme. Designed by committee, customized by modders and not concerned about looks.

With shark teeth paint... just because. Think P38 or A10 Warthog.

Doesn't the lore support the Alliance having hybrid Thargoid/Human ships? Part organic, part mechanical? I think that would be cool to see as faction specific ships for the Alliance.

makes you feel the flames of glory as you explore the universe , i think this is a sweet little ride

"In 3252, a hidden asteroid base is found in Alioth (again, we can look!), and a vaccine to the Mycoid virus is stolen. Obviously, this is big news across the Galaxy. The vaccine is delivered to the Thargoids by a private party. This leads to a peace treaty declared by the Alliance with the Thargoids. Get this... The aliens give a warship to the Alliance, and in 3253 the first Thargoid ship is piloted by a human. Wait, the Alliance hasn't gotten any ships yet, right? Hmmm... By 3255, complete relations between the Thargoids and humans proliferate through space, and both species begin to share technological and cultural ideas." - https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/3567o3/wait_a_minute_humans_and_thargoids_are_amicable/

So, yes - it's entirely possible Alliance could have hybrid ships*; the only problem there, is that they'd have been blown to bits by the Empire, Federation AND Independent Systems who would've wanted to get their mitts on the tech. Then again, FD could just introduce hybrid ships and be like "nah, they were always there; we just weren't ready to introduce 'em." But we'll have to wait and see how they expand the lore here.
