I just got a new dedicated gaming desktop PC a few days ago. Here are the specs:
- 6th gen Intel Core i7-6700k processor (4 CPU cores, 8 threads, 8MB cache, high 4Ghz base speed, turbo boost to 4.2Ghz)
- Sapphire Nitro AMD Radeon R9 390 (8GB dedicated GDDR5, 384GB/s bandwidth, 512bit bus, supports Directx12)
- 16GB DDR4 2400mhz HyperX system RAM.
- 240GB Kingston Fury HyperX SSD (for OS, and my games)
- 1TB Seagate 7200rm HDD
- Windows 10 Home 64 bit with support for Directx12.
- Gigabyte Wi-Fi ac/Bluetooth for connecting wirelessly to my home network
- ZALMAN ZM750-EBT 750W 80+ Gold Active PFC
- Cooler Master Hyper 103 CPU cooler
- Corsair 300r windowed case with 1 front intake fan, 1 side/window exhaust fan, 1 rear exhaust fan.
- Gigabyte Z170-HD3 Intel Z170 DDR4 ATX LGA1151
I got this system a few days ago from a special NZ company which lets you customize what you want in your PC. They even assemble it for you and test it for you and make recommendations like it needs a different power supply, another fan, etc. It also comes with an 18 month warranty too.
It can play this game on 1920x1080 High settings with high 20s to low 40s fps (when it does this, MSI afterburner and Windows 10 Task Manager say I'm only using 3.9GB sometimes 4GB-6GB at worse out of the 16GB system DDR4 RAM I have, and my CPU overall usage is like 88-92%). It can also play The Sims 4 on 1920x1080 Ultra with 60fps, and Cities Skylines 1920x1080 High everything settings with city population 97,000 easily at 60+ fps.
My laptop which is an HP 15-ab222tx with i5-6200U, 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM, AMD R7 M360 2GB graphics, struggles to play my games fluidly. So I decided to invest in a gaming PC and now I have one. The system cost me NZ$2500 and the special NZ company who built it put it all together, price includes GST and everything including 18 month warranty and overnight signature required courier. And i'll keep my laptop for everyday use.
Regarding my SSD space, it has the Windows 10 OS on it, and Planet Coaster Alpha, The Sims 4, Cities Skylines, AVG internet security, some pictures, MSI Afterburner, and it still has 157GB free space left on it. I don't have that many games cuz I mainly game on Xbox 360/Xbox One. Sometimes Windows 10 is unresponsive and my laptop has faster Wi-Fi reliability. Probably because my desktop is custom built. I heard Gigabyte may have bad drivers. But it has an 18 month warranty so if anything unbearable happens, I can have it serviced under the warranty. And it plays my games really well! I have a desktop PC which is pro at gaming,
and a laptop which is very good for my everyday needs and a 100% responsive hardware/OS/Wi-Fi since HP manufactured it.
