I mean, I'm away on an oil rig just now, and I foolishly decided not to pack my hotas and Oculus Rift this trip, then boom the elite comms channels light up with news of the alien bases not least the live one. Yet as I watch the videos and read the forums I am astounded by the salty vitriolic snidey remarks I come across dissing the content. I'm left astounded by the immensely inappropriate negativity of it all. Seriously what is wrong with you people?

I'm not able to fully immerse myself in it yet as I wont see my wife, kids, hotas and VR for another few weeks, yet even viewing it on the 17" 4k screen of my gaming laptop in HD via youtube I am simply stunned by what was found. My mind was blown in hd youtube small screen, 2.1x SS Oculus rift - oooohyah!

So given my evident appreciation for the teaser content, you'll understand my dismay at the lame dissing its getting. Lest y'all forget this wasn't even announced as coming, or alluded to, and there was a general sense that the E3 stream / fragged Farragut / robotic phonetic "Thargoids Return" beacon was all we'd see until 2.4 dropped. Heck even at the lavecon conference they kept this stuff up their sleeves. So here we are with a bonus content addition and yet Fdev are still taking grief?

Frontier I salute you, those sites look stunning and I cannot wait to fully immerse myself in them, please ignore the naysayers, today's Revelations really pulled a rabbit out of the hat. o7

I haven't seen any whining about the new content. But I also don't click on every topic posted. If it were that prevalent, I'd think I'd have seen it. I guess it depends on what you concentrate on.

Have fun with the youtube stuff.

It almost as if people have opinions that differ from yours.

Though I really haven't seen any substantial complaints about the new stuff. Mostly interest in the sites.

They don't drive it. I don't think anyone would be so stupid as to think they would. The thargoids and major human powers and their interactions are not the player's stories in the first place. But they can nudge that story in different directions. Or have some impact on them. If you want to make your own story (which people can do if they wish) make community goals and submit Galnet articles.

I saw it today on line, I haven't had chance to jump in the game my self yet, on way home to that... I too don't understand why people complain constantly, fdev have done an Amazon job, it looks amazing. The mind boggles what we will end up ......

Dev cannot win, they say nothing they get slammed, they say something they slammed...
There are people who try to make the game like another, in my mind if you like the other game so much.... go play it. Elite is unique, lets keep it that way, and I think dev have done us proud.

I have waited for the random event... I havent been lucky to see it. Boooooo. But that makes the whole more real....... unpredictable.. that's a good thing

Some the really salty forumites have been missing this past week...no idea why must be a full moon somewhere maybe :S

Theres not much else to get hyped about...some alien storyline in near the bubble that doesnt affect the other 99% of the milky way and a few other threads that should be in hotel california ages ago...just another day in paradise ^

Spent several hours watching things unfold on twitch. Bit depressing to note its all happening in private groups. Even those who pour scorn and vitriol on others who promote solo and private groups are getting involved....in private groups. Nawt so queer as folk!

Some browse and post from work OP, (myself included), because I am at work I am grumpy. If I wasn't at work I could be having snoo-snoo with he missus, (yeah, good one Theo you fool), enjoying time with the kids, (wait, that's mostly a pain in the backside), having a beer with my mates, (though fun, at my age 2 day hangovers are a thing). I could be witnessing my footie team miss out on another signing or wondering how on earth I can continue to justify my Sky Movies and Netflix subscriptions considering the best thing on is Batman Vs Superman Dawn of Justice.

Thanks OP, I will feel better about posting from work tomorrow, promise.

Game forums - that's really the whole answer. Typically they attract the 5% most virulent supporters of a game and the 5% most virulent detractors.

Oh calm down Ill be gone soon as I get another 3 decent players to farm some golds with...cant rush these things ^

Theres really not that much to talk about that doesnt end up going pete tong within 3 pages anyway and with half the fun of the game in the forums...just bored more than anything ^
