What type of controller will you be using for Elite Dangerous

CH Combatstick and Pro Throttle
TrackIr 5 with Track Pro Clip

Not sure if you count it as a controller:
Voice Attack

I've been using an XBox 360 Controller to far. No issues with flying but hate it for combat - It's just too sensitive. I've tried adjusting settings but can't get anything that I feel is playable.

So, just ordered a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Joystick from Amazon... Should be with me by Sunday hopefully :) I'll let you know how I get on with that.

I just Bought the Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino H.O.T.A.S. I have never really done any flying with a joystick since I was like 10 but I am super excited on getting them in. anyone know if they have been having any issues with them?

To those who have been using the X55, how is it handling? I've been leery of getting it due to half the reviews for it blasting the HOTAS for it's shoddy construction and button ghosting.

What problems have you had with it? Or is there QC finally beefing up and handling the issues?

I wrote this in another thread but I shall paste for you below:

I would like to write a short bit about the X55. I have never been so disappointed with something as I have this. Firstly, just because there is a £300 joystick, it doesn't make this one "cheap", £150 on a peripheral is a significant amount of money. The first thing I noticed was how cheap it felt, I've handled better made childrens toys and this is not an exaggeration.
After the initial disappointment I decided to try the different springs, first problem is the lightest one, when fitted renders the joystick useless as it doesn't centre anymore. I refitted a few times to make sure it wasn't me but all the other springs worked. This one the joystick just stays wherever you push it. I was willing to let this slide as I found I preferred the strongest anyway. The next issue was the one that tipped me over the edge, the H2 Hat would often get stuck when clicking right, you had to nudge it back to the centre, this is unacceptable for a £150 item.
I will be RMA'ing it tomorrow with the option of a refund not replacement. I hope my Hotas X arrives soon, lack of buttons aside it cannot feel cheaper than the X55 and is priced at £120 less. Another gripe is that it's just far too light and even on the loosest throttle I found myself lifting the base up. I have pretty big hands too and some of the buttons were a stretch for me as I had already been warned but I didn't think to that degree I'd struggle. Can't really criticize it for ergonomics as we're all different sizes. A few of the buttons on the thrust felt pointless as they were far too awkward to reach.
Positives, it felt great on Elite, the multitude of buttons are fantastic, it looks cool with the LED's as well. Sadly I can't find many other for the price.

hmm

had to ponder for a long while, but i think i've decided on the Logitech Extreme 3D pro Joystick, its cheap and from what i've learned from others it works really well with E: D.. except for the throttle that is, but i also learned you can use the CH products throttle separate with any joystick, so if i ever feel the need to have a hotas setup i can

Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X

Not super fancy, but it works great.

Currently XBOX One controller, due to arrive shortly, TM Warthog. Was intending to get a Saitek X55, but couldn't find one in stock and was so impressed with ED that I reckon I can justify the expense for the Warthog.

Just need an Occulus Rift now to complete the experience!

CH Products HOTAS. Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals. (USB)

I've literally been using CH Products for over 20 years, starting with a gameport Flightstick Pro in 1993 to play X-Wing. My gameport CH HOTAS still works with USB/Gameport adapter- and it's old enough to drive.
