Sweet combo for £100

Saitek X52
Tablet between stick and throttle running Roccat
Trackball to the right of the stick for when I need mouse mode (never in flight)
FacetrackNoIR

Ordered yesterday a Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X. Cannot wait, but not sure what the wife and kids will make of it. I don't need a sports car for a mid life crisis just Elite and Peripherals :D

Tried an xbox pad, tried a cheap HOTAS i had but settled on mouse/keyboard (now a gaming keypad). I've played far too many FPS to use any other method now i fear :D

I've found I can only get the really precise adjustments for long range combat with a mouse.

Today I bought this very interesting game for me :).

But, I must use standard controlers like Keyb.+Mouse or Gamepad (XBox 360 controler).

I realy hope for good optimatization for this, because Joystick on my work table is not acceptable :).

Saitek X52 Pro stick & Throttle
Saitek Pro Flight Pedals
Track IR 5
Logitech G502 Mouse
or
Razer Naga Epic Mouse
Razer Anansi Keyboard

Random addons
Arozzi Monza Gaming Chair
Benq 28" LED Monitor

loving it :)

How did you get the controller to work for you? I'm havng a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to find the settings for the gamepad (it isn't showing up in presets).

the beginning was keyboard - Joystick
After Mouse - Joystick
Now I'm trying Controller - Joystick. :D

Together with VA and OR-DK2

Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog(Stick + Throttle quadrant)
Trying to get Thrustmaster retro pedals to work - no luck yet
RIFT - when it arrives
Logitech G13
VoiceAttack
Triples currently until RIFT arrives.

I have tried K+M, leaving the dock was a nightmare so I dont think I will go back to that.

With the Controller I manage to switch off Assist. Having Analog signal for Side and level thrust makes maneuvers more easier but still need practice...... a lot of practice.

One question to who is using a Throttle stick or the CH Throttle stick; are the D-Pads digital or Analog?:S:S

Which company out of CH sells a Stand alone Throttle stick?

Been thinking about this a bit and I'll likely try the 360 controller first. If it doesn't feel right though the next option may be a dedicated joystick like this:

I have the FLY 5 bought it 2 weeks ago to upgrade from my Cyborg Evo.

It's a nice stick but the main stick itself wobbles a tiny bit independently from the base due to them using a pin to allow you to adjust the stick forwards or backwards. It's a tiny bit annoying so I wedged a bit of card in there to stop it happening. Seems like a silly design really for that when they have used screws for the rest of the stick adjustments.

Use the deadzone to mitigate that, your stick should be transmitting signal when it wobbles. Or did you mean the stick wobbles independent of the base ball pivot, if that's the case it must really suck.

That's exactly what I meant. You can tilt the stick ever so slightly forwards or backwards independent of the base ball pivot. It's quite offputting even if it is just a millimetre or two.

Mouse and keyboard for me :) mostly for the reason that I love to play anywhere on my notebook so I want to master this combination instead of others :).

I will buy a new HOTAS for this, but I still do not know which one it will be. First I was thinking about a Saitek X52 PRO, then a Saitek X55 Rhino, then a CH fighterstick & throttle, then again X55, then I even considered the super expensive Thrustmaster Warthog, then again CH...... and now I am back on X55 Rhino again...

Never in my life have I been so confused about a gaming peripheral.

^So much this.

Right now I cannot make up my mind. The Saitek X55 has a decent throttle and stick but the build quality is an issue with horror stories of ghost inputs, multiple RMAs, concerns over durability and more. CH Products have excellent build quality but the throttle has no indents and is very light to the touch. The Thrustmaster Warthog is out of my price bracket.

I was dead certain of the X55, then I pretty much decided on CH and now I'm not sure again. Sadly there's nowhere to go to try these things out.
