I suppose... how else do you think the stations got there? It's not like it would make sense to bring materials to some of the station locations. Would be easier to just build a station at a major hub like Sol, then have it take itself to the destination.

It's a giant skewer. When there's enough Lakons impaled on there the station will flame grill them and consume them as a tasty snack.
