Hate to mention this, but, pretty sure there is a crazy amount of cheating going on right now.
I can confirm there is increased cheat activity right now, compared to last 5 years.
I had
https://s.orbis.zone/qX3A destroyed in under 20 seconds by a single Python2. They appeared to be using a very typical frag/pa gank build. It's not an ideal setup for PvP, but, it should be relatively gank proof as long as I leave as soon as attacked. Which I did. I generally don't have time for PvP, (PvP in ED is boring to me), so I typically just leave. No panic, just a bored sigh, then high wake, same as I have been doing for a decade. I failed to escape in a ship that should be nearly impossible to stop from leaving by a single attacker without something fishy happening.
There is absolutely no way for non-cheated p2, to kill such bulid that much fast, even if you would not had any pips in SYS. Congratz, you meet an cheater.
Can you PM me that p2 cmdr name? Im simply wonder if I have this cmdr in my personal cheater list.
Interesting.
I recently ran into a Ganker with a FAS which was going faster than my Corsair, which shouldn't be possible.
The Corsair didn't have drag yet, so it was at around 575, instead of 600, but still, a FAS in combat trim should not gain fast on it at all.
It is all quite fishy atm.
There no way for FAS be this much fast, those things get 550-560, when max hulled and fully loaded. Congratz, you meet an cheater.
I also ask if you too you PM me this FAS cmdr name. Same reason as above.
(It will be used for future reporting, well as for "psychological" warfare in system chat in event if they dare to speak at it, as I will make sure they are known as cheaters, and spread the word - as this always helps them getting banned, sooner or later. No mercy for them.)
I can see them more and more often these days.
Yeah, right now, there is bunch of those, PVP-wannabe tryhards who are mostly on alternates accounts, who uses cheat engine to "tweak" thier ships stats, either minimaly, like %5 faster speed or slightly more distro regen, or outright go all out, with vettes going faster than FDL's, or extreme dmg setups (I had cheater cobra wich once one-shoted my cutter with single rail strike) Some are caution and less obvious, but still beyond what is not possible, with present loadout.
Most often I can recall is "minimal extra speed" + "disto hack" with really heavy bulids, like prismatics p2 or FDL, wich go fast as 575 or 580 - wich is not possible even with lightweight ones.
For some reason, those "abnormal" speedy cmdrs, also somehow, often can permaboost, fire thier all PA's non-stop (dont get overheat while so) at same time, while taking dmg themselfs, as if they had atleast 5000 MJ with 50% all resists, while keeping 4 SYS. Quite wonderus it is, an miracle indeed.
Thing is, I know every meta, every ship, every bulid, and know everything what they can do or not, especially such as how fast they should be... or or how much dmg & time it would take to kill, etc. given using loadouts, when vs mine I use at moment.
Maybe because I really did my homework about every single of ships and bulids and general combat game mechanics, or maybe because I fought with every possible meta, thousands of times, so I know very well, what these can do or not, and more importantly, how fast they should be. I can spot much as 5 m/s being too fast, for speed alone.
That how I am able to spot those noobs (no matter how clever they think they are, no one can fool me when using cheats if happen to "tweak" too much). I report them every single time, If seen at open.
Don't forget premium ammo. It's often used by gankers.
Short range rails with oversized are deadly.
But double shot screening shell pacifiers are my goto weps.
Both wep types rely on close range.
Furball combat hehe.
Premium users are very easy to notice and are certainly not "I win buttons", as some might think it is... that being said, for many gankers and PVP'ers premium is standard.
In fact, when doing organic PVP of any kind (wich including being randomly attacked), it should be always assumed that hostile cmdrs uses premiums, every time if they use weapons that can be premium boosted.
Thing is... cheaters can "mimic" it as well. But there are cases when cheaters goes beyond premium realm, in terms of dmg they do, and sadly, those are more often to meet right now.
