You've painted a perfect picture of the soul of the forum.I assume the new feature will consist of unfulfilled fantasies and self-inflicted disappointment sprinkled with a healthy amount of salt and a few open letters.
Seriously: Why do you do this? Frontier haven't said a single word about the new feature, and until they do, all you do is build up false expectations. It's like... we've never EVER done this before.
Exploring derelicts and things like that would be fun.
Ages old tradition going back to at least that one guy in ancient Rome ending every speech with "By the way, I think Carthage should be destroyed!".If something is repeated enough it becomes 'true' to many people.![]()
The real game is the forum threads we ruined along the way. You've painted a perfect picture of the soul of the forum.
Why do we do this?
To keep the forums alive!
(Possibly fueled by some evil, big popcorn corporation)
Brings to mind the quote from 'A Man for all Seasons': "The world must construe according to its wits", folowed by the plagiarized "Frontier must construe according to the KickStarter"If something is repeated enough it becomes 'true' to many people.![]()
As has been said here, if they do it two years in advance, then assuming they've started some of this, by mid- to late next year, provided they actually manage to implement either of the two features. I'd mainly like the one for atmospheric planets, but I also wouldn't dismiss the one other interior commanders are asking for, which, while not as important to me, would be an addition worth considering.I cant see atmos or ship interiors being a free quarterly update, has to be something much smaller.
A Master Limpet! When they announced a similar new feature last year (which turned out to be colonisation) my recollection was that they really downplayed it and I pictured some relatively small and self contained gameplay loop. How wrong I was. Who knows what that means for this year's surprise feature but we already know that these features are planned years in advance and that they're already thinking two years ahead (that was from Arthur's Lave Radio interview). So while years of experience have taught us to control expectations I’m also secretly hoping it could be as substantial (and new) as colonisation. I’m going to take a wild punt and say either EVA salvage or planets (and gameplay?) involving weather systems (a long held pipe dream of mine). What could the gameplay for either of these be? Well gathering data and/or valuable resources (hard to get on-foot engineering mats) perhaps? And of course having said all that they'll surprise me again and go with something small … it’s gonna be a new type of limpet isn’t it.
I don’t believe you …If something is repeated enough it becomes 'true' to many people.![]()

Playing a long pun game … we’ll see if anyone bites …new here?
