What's "too realistic?"

So I understand that in advertising, Frontier frequently touts PZ's realism but I find that in the game, several compromises are made to make the game much less of a royal pain.

This is def a good thing as irl, zoo and animal management is grossly complicated to the point where most people would take one look at it and say "Screw this, I'm going to go play Minecraft!"

Now obviously, things like disembowelment and gratuitous winkies are left out to keep the game accessible to the 11+ crowd.

This includes things like

Having to separate solitary animals like tigers, komodo dragons, bears, etc. until they're ready to mate and even then, occasionally killing each other
Separating bull elephants from the herd because they live alone
Zebras being hyper-aggressive jerks in captivity.
Males killing cubs that aren't theirs
etc. and etc.
Keepers can't be in enclosures with dangerous animals so instead, the animals are sent to their night houses

Having to manage things like these would be a nightmare for everyone except absolute zoo nerds

Tropical plants in a temperate zoo. I can't bring myself to do it. (I put my habitat palms/tropicals in planters so I can imagine they get put away in the winter). With that being said, I see why they don't have snowfalls kill them.

irl story: I had a moment of stupidity when I got scammed into buying a palm tree "guaranteed to survive a Canadian winter!" You can imagine my disappointment when spring came.

I always get a laugh out of educational games where the animals 'cuddle' to make babies - the lion mating animation is so darn cute though!

The plant variety/system in this game annoys me no end. If a plant falls under the correct biome for an animal it shouldn't matter which continent it's from!

At the moment they're just limiting our enclosure design by restricted us to a tiny amount of matching biome/continent plant species per animal. I can't think of any good reason for the restrictions. It's certainly not realist; most of our animals are born in captivity and would never even know what their 'native' plants were.

TLDR: Get rid of continent restrictions for planting enclosures.
