When can we actually expect some real gameplay content?

Googled it... street fighter is a one on one fighting genre game it seems. So how is it possible to make a comparison?

Compare and contrast in not less than 1500 words...

I think the game you're looking for is EVE

As long as people here defend the grind and say that this is actual content and you have to make your own content, nothing will change.

What I find funny here, is that you guys always feel the need to put others down as less of players, because apparently wanting content automatically equals to "handholding", while that is absolutely not the case. Devaluing the other persons opinion that way is intellectually dishonest, does not provide anything to the discussion and is an empty statement that holds no meaning.
One can make such statements all day, but that does not mean you are right. I can only advise people to get off their high horses and engage in actual discussion instead of just being disgruntled that someone dislikes something in their favorite game.

If FD would add more content, that wouldn't make ED automatically Skyrim. Although, Fact is, it is way more successful. But having nothing but repeatable missions is not enough to hold players and statistics do support that statement.

Thank you for this. Spot on correct.

This either/or fallacy stuff needs to stop. We can have content without linear quests and hand holding.

An interesting video. I would argue from the points it makes that ED has a good balance betwwen depth and complexity. Any other opinions?

I find ED light on both tbh, when evaluated on its own or when compared to other games and particularly other games in the same genre. X3TC or AP have a ton more depth and complexity than ED, as does EVE online and you don't even "fly" the ship in EVE. I would say it's probably on a par with Freelancer. Great game, but like ED not particularly deep or complex.

underestimated the success of the game, they just wasn't expecting the game to get as big as it got. I think changing the net to something a little more server based will be better. As this is the most restrictive thing in the game, the more you add the crazier the P2P gets and information sent.

Hmmmm. Frontier once reported a 'bull estimate' to the market of sales of up to 30 million of E: D. ;) To be fair, the lower/mid estimates are in line with current sales IIRC.
