When checking for animal escape, check on the horizontal plane only please

I've had several "escapes" that aren't really escapes, just animals climbing a tree or going into a cave. In both cases the animal was still inside the bounds of the habitat on the horizontal plane, just extended up or down vertically beyond the top or bottom of the walls.

It seems to me that for purposes of checking if an animal is still inside the habitat, the barriers should essentially be considered infinitely tall extending in both directions. Only the horizontal plane (XZ) should be checked.

Does this happen all the time in your zoo? Or just a few times? Never had this issue.

I built a bear enclosure in the Canada level in career mode. I tried to use the invisible barrier in the water against rock to join up to the rest of the perimeter. The bears love swimming in there but I keep getting escape alerts and they cant get out. I have been thinking it was the barrier as I think its for non swimming animals, but it could just be they are diving under the water?

It is inconsistent to be honest but frequent. And I've seen other people talking about it was well. I've had the same animal climb the same tree in the same enclosure and sometimes be escaped and sometimes not. The tree is in the middle of the enclosure so they can't jump out, they were just really high up.

Depending on your habitat setup and the species you have, you might not ever see this issue. Even some of the tutorial zoos have this issue. If I remember correctly, it was the lemurs in their zoo, that automatically get boxed up for going out of bounds. In my Franchise Zoo, I get this with flamingos, of all things. I have a guest path through the exhibit, with an elevated bridge over the water. Sometimes the flamingos will walk up the bridge and when they do, the game thinks they're out of the habitat and boxes them up. It's very annoying to have your animals boxed for escaping when they are still safely inside the habitat. With some primate setups, it can completely ruin the habitat.

Have had the same issue with African Wild dogs, that could clim on top of their hard shelter, i just raided the walls i can't be bothered by this, but i do hate tall walls and would like this fixed, especially since the thing coudnt have ever gotten out from the enclosure
