which constructions have I built? How to find it out?

How do I find out what kind of structure I have built? The system map only shows the name of the built installation, but no information about the type of installation it belongs to.

Or can I retrieve this information somewhere?

Bumping this back up as I've recently run into the same issue. Is there any way short of flying to each installation and comparing the layout to pictures of each layout?

But what is missing is the mainly the installations. There isn't any way to determine which is which? They should have a title. Ie satellite installation, security installation etc.
I've got round it by naming them accordingly.
Does affect the others too. Having say 'civilian outpost', would really benefit.
Not sure why this was missed in the rollout.

Yeah, I've tried the same but getting the name generator to land on a name that's descriptive of the installation is nearly impossible for some and I refuse to pay for an in game asset that I can't interact with. I think the price for naming is to expensive as it is.

The Odyssey material helper app will track this for you, but it really doesn't matter much. I add installations base on their effect on the system, so if I build 2 of the same items in a system it doesn't matter.

But I think that should be available so when you visit a system and see some commodities that you want to produce you can replicate the same installations.

Crap like this is why I'm just gobbling up systems and not building them up beyond the initial small station. Like come on, how could someone not have thought of this when planning this feature??

Only way is to open RENAME dialog and at the top there is a picture of installation by which you can conclude what is the type of installation

But it should be clearly stated what kind of installation/port/orbital is being highlighted. At least to the architect

I got suckered into naming mine with ARX. I named them something descriptive that makes sense.

It is annoying the the name generator proposes names that fundamentally incorrect for a given facility. I realize you can ignore the name and roll again, but it is pretty dumb.

• surface settlement named "Smith Installation"
• installation named "Smith Hub"
• coriolis named "Smith Labs"

You are absolutely correct. It should not be so difficult to show simple one liner - "Installation - Satellite - Small - Angelia" or "Settlement - Tourism - Medium - Comus"
