Horizons Which Power

I have been told I may now join some political power.
I always thought federation would be they way I'd go. Mostly because federation ships seem to be around all the time. (help me help you)
But upon checking the list it is impossible to see if it makes any difference.

Any thoughts on this subject people?
And can you change from one power to another?:S

- you can pledge and unpledge from any power, you'll have to wait 24 hours (?) before you can pledge to a new one

- powerplay power isn't superpower (federation, empire, alliance). the president of the federation hudson uses his private time (and for his private wealth) to get control of imperial systems, instead of helping a system to be flipped to federal space. the emperor/empress uses her private time (and for her families wealth...) to rule federal systems. e.g. if you interested about the superpowers (federation, empire, alliance) you are better off helping a superpower alliggned player group (which you can find in the group forums). if you prefer shady politicians fighting over influence, control and wealth, pick any of the powers you like (or meet your personal needs in terms of their bonusses or powerplay weapons).
