Who did you pledge allegiance to?

Not sure about this whole galactic power thing. Seems like a cool idea, and I know you can pick different ones at any time.

Is there any benefit to picking a particular one right now, or is just a matter of personal preference?

If it doesn't really matter which one you pick, then I'd probably go with Felicia Winters of the Federation, because that character's political ideology seems most in line with mine.

Any thoughts?

Nobody currently, I'm staying independent for the time being at least, perhaps I'll look at joining a faction in a few months, but not atm.

Staying independent. Long live the independents. Some people think that's the wrong side...

Not certain it's the wrong side...

:-D

On PC it was Aisling, probably the same on this, I didnt do much powerplay on the PC so not sure the benifits, but the prismatic shields sounded good. Also there was a trading boost that was quite handy.

I dont think you can just pick and choose anytime, theres concequences. Maybe a cool down peiriod but I'm not sure, and they wont be very happy you defected so that annoys a whole bunch of other people.

I think if you do pick a side you will see more action, more people out to get you, you make your self a target, opposition players will be rewarded for killing you, so theres an incentive they never needed, but thats whether or not you want the extra attention. You'll also be restricted in where you want to go, in some systems you will be classed as an enemy, shoot on sight.

You know there are "independent" factions, right? Lol

I get it's not the same thing exactly, but still. If your political ideology is that of an independent then you could always join up with Archon Delaine a be a pirate lol.

Aware of that lol, there are loads of independent factions.

I just wanted to make a ham-handed reference.

Yea those are all good points. Maybe I'll just hold off for now until I'm much stronger. Once I can defend myself against most attackers then maybe I'll be ready to "join the cause." ;)

I'm glad you mentioned this cos Ive just reminded myself why I shouldnt do it, I was just thinking of pledging forgeting all that, but then my stock sidewinder and renoob skills doesnt really want any attention just yet.

I think powerplay originally was designed as a more mid game thing aimed for players with more experience, and you need a decent size ship to really get anywhere,
