why are all the engineers only found on planets??

Let's say they are all old salty space dogs (they do appear to be), so that's why they've had enough of space. Since they're also clearly brainboxes, that explains why they choose to live far from civilisation.

Now, I WILL need an explanation why Elvira Martuuk chooses to live on a world where she weighs nearly twice as much (female hang-ups about weight aside ;) ). Her portrait should be altered to look like a female Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime if she's able to live comfortably under 1.65G (iirc??)

Have you seen her in-game pic? It's not far off.

Um, what?
You totally answered your question in your own post. What is this thread meant to be, what should we discuss here?

Oh wait, found post #6 and the thread makes some sort of backwards sense again. I bought the lifetime pass for £180 , I don't get your point about how much you spent. I could buy an apple for £30 and you could buy a 20 apple megapack for just £3 . Does that mean I'm owed 199 apples? No, it means I didn't research what I was buying.
What I bought was right there in the product description as I assume your product was described. Mine (LEP) was actually poorly described, I still don't know how many expansions there will be, the total life of the game, if I can be bought out of my LEP etc. But I bought it on what I'd seen and read over the previous 3 months knowing full well that the game could run for 20 years or 1 and I'd have no recourse.

You bought the base game, you did not buy horizons, ergo when "2.1 The Engineers" came out as part of the horizons season you did not get it because you did not buy horizons. You decided to buy something which was delivered to you as described and therefore you have no recourse unless you were deliberately misled.

/case closed?

Personally I like to believe engineers aren't in space because they are fed up of people wanting to see them and wanted to make it that little bit harder. If I were an Engineer I'd set up on Achenar 6 or another high G world, maybe beagle point. All just to stop every player that thinks their something special coming along wanting their lasers and FSDs tuned up to god levels just because they brought a few bits of material... :D:D
Yes jokes but also partly true.

Also they had some cool new art assets and wanted to show them off.... :)

Finally space stations would presumably take much more staff and resources to build & maintain. A grounded base on a planet with automated defences, automated ATC, bio-domes and a few facilities is fairly low effort, less likely to get attacked or damaged. It's much easier to defend, repair, tons easier to expand and in most cases have a day/night cycle that you can live in. Much better for the health as it's more relatable to the habitat humans adapted to (Earth) etc.
Oooh, also harder to have laws imposed on some backwater planet than on an easily locatable space station. Those engineers tinkering with things that big companies make, can't exactly do that out in the open, gotta keep it hush hush...

In short lore reasons could be found as to why these individuals may want to avoid having stations, yes it's a statistical anomaly but the real reason is clearly a gate because it is one of the 5 major updates in the horizons season so can't be given free to everyone..

it seems like there's a bunch of things wrong with the logic on this.

1) they'd be on the ground of ELW not barren rocky planets if they're some sort of super great scientist

2) some of them would be in space and not on the ground just because of the setting

why are neither of these things considered?

1) WIP LOL!

2) gotta content lock 100% of content to DLC and not consider powercreep

They have shares in an ancient Earth company called FD and want you to buy Horizons.
