Why are there so many Necro threads being resurrected just now? Grrr!

Worse than necro threads, NECRO ANSWERS!

A necro answer happens when someone (other than ourselves because we would never do this) types in a thread reply that had already been addressed previously, at least once.

It's like they read the OP's opening statement and fast forward to type in an entry, without bothering to read through any of the existing replies.

The thing I hate most is necro answers. When someone posts an answer that has already been given, because they're too lazy to read the damn thread.

My guess is people are combing the forums looking for the slightest peice of odyssey information or discussion, especially since we know absolutley nothing about this expansion apart from feet and pew pew.

They come across something that tickles their interests after climbing deep down into the underworld, odyssey related or not, and post a new comment.

Narp. Lots of new players because of the discounts and freebies.
And people coming back after an extended holiday.

And people tagging on to this to add salt. Ex boyfriends etc.

Edit: And newer players stepping in to offer advice. Can't put that down

At least it isn't as bad as the classic internet forum problem: "I have a problem. How do I fix it?" "Search the forum before asking your question. Locked." finds 3 year old topic that describes the issue exactly and is marked as solved Topic asks "How do I fix this?" and there is a deleted or missing post after it, followed by "Thanks, that fixed it." "What was the solution that got deleted?" "Don't necro topics. Locked."

Those were the days back then. Granted, they were bad days, but still, days, back when time still had meaning, as opposed to now, where things you think happened months ago actually happened last week.

I must admit that thread that ask a great question, get multiple helpful hint to fix a problem and the OP if the ever reply, do so with "Thanks, that worked" without ever saying which suggestion worked. Very annoying.
