Not much to it, I just really like the sound of the name.
Comes from one of my favorite Videogames, Paper Mario on the Gamecube. The Name just really stuck, silly but also kinda powerful

My real name is Arne.
And i came up with Dusty when i needed to enter a nick name to a game i can't remember while watching the movie Twister at that point Dusty turned on the radio with Deep Purple..
I liked it, so i went Dusty, but Dusty was taken, so i tried DustyArne, and it sticked.. lol

This is a username I've used for a lot of things for many years.
It stems from a Welsh tradition of identifying people by their profession - or more often by the product of their profession - because in Welsh towns & villages there were often a lot of common surnames, Jones, Williams, Davies, etc. So people might refer to a baker called Jones as "Jones the bread". My surname is Jones and I work in the film & TV industry so I'm "Jones the film".
I use it as my CMDR name in ED because I didn't have a choice. As a PS4 player I had to use my PSN username for my CMDR name - but before I discovered that restriction I planned to use "Eridani Jones" (a sort-of reference to Indiana Jones) as my CMDR name in-game.

Used my favourite way to generate usernames, opened the frontier website (most likely), closed my eyes and jabbed the screen twice and took the letters that that I had pointed to

Tis a shame we dont have the same freedoms when it comes to ship naming...even when the name isnt a swear word and does have a sentimental meaning but is still banned...fer reasons still unknown to this day. Cool thing I didnt use it as my username...and I could have at the time ^

My name comes from a film I loved as a child growing up, subsequently followed that career irl.
Mines is because I always wanted an asteroid base for my pirating activities, something I still hope for

My friends gave me the nickname Oss when we were young. I have absolutely no idea why.
Many years later I was briefly a member of MENSA and my IQ was 133.
Then the internet was invented and I needed an online ID.
So naturally I went with Twitty McTwitface.

Yes I was offered to become a member of Mensa when I was 12 amazingly.... yep I was as shocked as you now are.
JesusOnEez - simply an adaption of this brilliant Amiga demo (more the music than the FX). It's been my moniker since it was released pretty much. I used PsiBorg before that.

My forum user name optimal_909 originates from a the music genre 'minimal' I was listening to mostly about 15 years ago (even today sometimes, though I much less picky than I used to be), and subsequently 909 is the Roland drum machine I've never seen in flesh. It's just legendary.
I am using this on forums and on my (now defunct) PSN account since ages.
As for my in-game CMDR name 'Mr Crown Vic P71': around the time I registered on Elite, I bought a former unmarked US police cruiser as a daily driver, which is an odd choice over here in Hungary. I love it dearly, partly -probably- because it was such a pain to have it registered.
Anyway, in 2015 when I've seen Elite on sale, I thought: 'well, another cheap rip off of a classic title I know from childhood, but I might give it a try... I will refund it anyway'. So I registered with this silly name.
And here I am 2.5 years later. I was considering changing it, but it kinda grew on me.
