Why do I have to go to Reddit in order to find "official" information?

Why isn't the "official" information on your official site?
Why are you communicating important information through unofficial channels? Everything should be in your Newsletters or posted in stickies on your own forum, not Reddit.

It's on the forum. FAQ is stickied up top in dangerous discussion. Rest is in News Bulletin. I imagine the patch notes when available will be in the patch notes section of the news bulletin section.

I definitely believe I'm one of the more knowledgeable people on this game, and I've never been to reddit.

I use EDDB, Inara and Coriolis for my resources, I think it's great that fans provide these services so FD can focus on making engineering worse better, there's even an API you can use (provided by FD to facilitate external info sources, thanks FD!), which means you don't have to enter half your details in those sites.

This is the only site I use for E:D info, don't even have an account on Reddit.

Had to have a friend of mine tell me consoles wouldn't be getting access to the new patch until March at the earliest. Yes, the newsletter says the beta is for players "on PC" specifically, but nowhere does it talk about any kind of timeline other than the initial date.
This is not the first time I've had to hear about "official" responses being made on Reddit regarding specific information not found elsewhere. It happens with nearly every patch/nerf.

Nobody will have access to the new 'patch' until the beta is over and done with. I think you're getting confused between beta access, which is PC/Mac only and the general live release of the latest Beyond update for all platforms.

Beta access is and always has been for PC and Mac only and is well reported as such on this forum, both on the Xbox/PS4 sections and on here in DD.

Hey Doc!

All our information is posted on our Forums, Facebook, Twitter, Support Site and sometimes on the launcher :) Players will usually post information to the Reddit which we don't control.

Hope this helps!

I pretty much get all the info I need. Can't fault it.

In furtherance of this: There has also been NO date given for the when the update hits the Live servers.

I think there's sometimes the impression that people like Sandro are more likely to post on Reddit than here. I've no idea if that's the case though.

Really? You're going to argue semantics? Please.

Thank you for the response Harvey. Still uncomfortable with the fact that even Twitter is used, but I do understand.
Perhaps you all should get involved with the Reddit then, if only to stop the spread of misinformation. I just went on the first time for myself and I've got to say it is incredibly misleading seeing a big green sticky by the "EDMods" giving out all kinds of very specific info.

Also, just browsing through briefly I do see replies to topics being made by what appears to be actual developers. Are these imposters?

Harvey? I take it that's supposed to be insulting?

I've no idea what you're on about since I've never visited Reddit in any form...I simply assumed someone had wires crossed over beta and live patches.... perhaps not since the rude response :)

You guys still stop by Discord now and then too? I don't do most of the social media stuff. Haven't been there in a while. Just curious.

I don't trust anything on Reddit. Just my personal opinion. I get all of my info from the launcher, INARA or from these forums.

I think rather that he was replying to the post from Paige Harvey...... and not trying to be rude to you!
