Why every patch brings more bugs than fixes?

The keyword here is "patience".
Yes it is. When FD added the ability to donate stolen tritium to the fuel depot of a carrier they broke the secure market. When they finally fixed the secure market, they broke the ability to donate stolen tritium to the depot. With baited breath I'm waiting for a fix for the fuel depot...

These things are beyond stupid, like fixing megaship cargo, mining fragments getting trapped, cargo copy exploits and other stuff 3 times in a row.
...and I left taking 5 MONTHS to stop rendering nav mesh for the whole planet (tanking peoples framerate to single digits) out.

I think it's a fair representation of the forum.

Irony is that where I live, this is true. In fact, I am that old man! I'm yelling at the clouds right now as I type this.

At least with Elite, I can play other games while I wait for it to get fixed / finished. There are no "other weathers" for me to choose from without moving cross-country.

I just downloaded the new patch. I still can't scan exobiology. This is not a priority ? Well I'm done. I went to exploration to rank it up. Now I can't do it. How do you manage to break contents each update ? Damn.

One might argue this is the better way - postpone until you have something that's working rather than release something that is broken. After all, patches are just that, patching something that is broken. Something that is not broken doesn't require endless patches, along with patches for previous patches. The very process of patching something (as in, fixing software "on the fly") is bound to generate more bugs than fixing unpublished code in-house before your initial release.

Though it seems I'm in the minority when it comes to this line of thinking, if all the "Where is Odyssey on console?" posts are any indication.
Good points there. This question about whether taking the risk to release or not an unfinished product is very puzzling.

What if Frontier didn't release OD and waited forever until they had something better? I don't know for you guys, but I remember that for the OD official release, back in France we were starting our first full covid lockdown. Even if it was broken, I'm still glad OD was there during those tough times.

you can see how happy people would be at that. Just look in the console section and check how happy they are with being made to wait for it to be 'ready'. I think the summary is .. not very.

Very good point. I'm sure a lot of console players would kill to just have the broken version we had on PC.

They don't believe us when we insist that EDO has issues, nor that the 'new' content appears very much to be content that was disabled on launch... Odd how the Scorpion was datamined before release, and that FC interiors are in the game now..

That is one of my own FC's...
