I'm slap bang in the middle of Kepler's Crest, moving through a thoroughly uneventful bit of the Outer Arm. Here:
Hours, several hours, have gone by since I last went through a system that hasn't been fully charted. And I'm wondering why this area has been so completely surveyed. I'm not right on the edge, where circumnavigators would likely be going. I'm not on an established route to anywhere (although I moved a bit, just in case I was).
I did spend a couple of years out of the game. Was there some big story which attracted everyone to here? I know that, long ago, there was the big fuss around the Formidine Rift, but I'm a long way beyond that region's borders now.
Or is it just that it's the closest part of the galactic fringe to the bubble? I'm sure there's a very obvious explanation, I'm just curious. And also missing the true black, all the uncharted space.
