Why is the first jump after relog always out of range?

Addendum: You can easily try that fuel tank thing without even moving:

1. Fit a tank half the size, make sure it is full, plot a route.
2. Swap back the large tank, do not refuel, replot, see if the route changes.
3. Fuel up, replot, see if it changes.

I can do that later with my Beluga, with its huge fuel tank it actually makes a big, easily measurable difference.

If it matters for testing, I never use extra tanks on trips... just fuel scoops and guardian fsd boosters. But I get this problem even without the fsd boosters.

Yeah it appears the wiki is wrong as well;

Since the half full fuel tank is calculated for jump range as if it's full having a half full fuel tank is NOT the same as having a fuel tank half the size!
I have thought about this. The flexibility described in the wiki would only make sense if there was a fuel level setting in the galaxy map, which I really, really, REALLY swear existed in the old galaxy map in my memory.... Any legacy players here to confirm?

Here I am fully fueled, 54.12ly jump range;

Here I am after 2 jumps with no refueling 55.35ly jump range, this is the range it uses for calculating jumps;

Also to note here, the galmap used to recalculate eachtime you open it, it no longer does that, so out of range on first jump may be related to that, it maybe loads the route last calculated even though you have used fuel, which is why it works when you cancel and replot but not when you first open it on relog.

When you first open the galaxy map after logging in again, it seems to replot, not just reload because (a) it's slow, much slower than a reload should be and (b) the first jump is different from what it was before the relog - as you can see in my screenshots. That auto-replot is using an incorrect mass or range for the first jump and that's simply a bug of some kind.

Yeah, in theory if it was always using the correct mass, that is the ship with a full fuel tank that should never happen.

What happens when you neutron boost, can you use the route plotter or do you need to manually jump to get more than basic jump range? Maybe this is a new bug!
When you neutron boost, it can be checked in the plotter and automatically counted in (with scooping, too). But IIRC you can also enable the jumponium with the synth level.

I use synth all the time, but you always have to manually target for synth, was just wondering whether it was a bug affecting plotter jump range and could affect neutron boost jumps as well, so you can still use the route plotter with neutron boost?

Would have to check, I don't know. I'm at work, that's why I have the time to be at the forums. :D
