If you like Odyssey than i fully understand the reaction, why would we need one? But, if you're unhappy with the difficulty running it on your PC, or some feature or other that means you just prefer Horizons even now, why not a new stab at the series? It would allow for new features, a more excited team and programmers that are comfortable with the new code, and our console brethren may even see a version of it at some point.
What did we lose with Odyssey, 30 quid? I paid Paradox Interactive 30 pounds recently, only for them to turn all the characters in the game into Ferengi's, with no bug-fix in sight. I paid Blizzard Interactive 10 pounds a month to run around a small patch of land repeating the same daily quests ad-infinitum, before asking myself, why am i doing this? I paid FIFTY pounds for a perennially unfinished game called Mount and Blade bannerlord, to carry on sucking and bugging out for years afterwards.
So why not! When this series has brought us so much pleasure, a new beginning in the universe of Elite dangerous, old disappointments left behind, a new fistful of relatively small cash at the ready as our entrance fee to the Braben rollercoaster, and a load of optimism back on the forums for once? Why are we such cheapskates? Come on, lets start over, it's not that big of an expense compared to other entertainment in general.
