Wild speculation on handheld weapons

I'm hoping for some kind of vibro-shiv or hydro-blade melee weapon to stab thargoid foot soldiers in all their hearts with. Even if guns work better. I just want to see the jerks bleed. What do you guys think?

I don't think melee weapons would really fit the "feel" of Elite. That being said, a "bash" option in case you run out of ammo would probably be nice nonetheless

Good point. Less-than-lethal weapons either used by local law enforcement/riot control (in "Civil Unrest" BGS situations) or by commanders in "capture or kill" missions against high value targets

if they're following standard ED rules, fixed weapons should do more damage.

So you strap these to your back, then lie prone with your head pointing at the enemy.
