One of the early Newsletters had a picture of a solar system map in it - as of BB2 there still is not one in.
Anybody know if there are any plans to introduce it later?
Maybe, if you have sufficiently advanced scanners on board. Every ship in a system will not be visible anyway, only those your scanners (passive or active) do pick up.In FE2 on the planetary map, there were of points of color in movements, which indicated the presence of spaceships and their movements. Perhaps the same thing in ED ?
Take a look here: http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6298Yeah - that's the maps I was referring too.
However these are art pictures (and good ones at that!) that are not included in the game, they are also in the sidewinder manual.
I can't seem to find a solid reference where FD said that maps like these will be in the finished game.
It would be a shame if they don't make it in - they look amazing.

Looks like you won't be disappointed (System View).![]()

Hi,
I'm new here! Great looking game...
Can we expect the Solar System to be included in the game release? Or will it come with an expansion? Did Fontier release any pics of Earth or other known planets of our Solar System?
I must admit that I'm mostly interested in exploring our solar system in the final game (planets, moons like Europa). Check out the Earth from the Moon...
Won't they have to make them by hand though? They can't use procedural because we know how they look like... Jupiter needs her red spot! Enceladus needs her geysers! http://i.space.com/images/i/000/023/203/i02/enceladus-geysers.jpg?1375290378

Will the solar system map make it in?
The bigger question is...
Will Pluto be there or not?
EDIT: and another thought, how many of Saturn's 60-odd moons will be in game!
Rumour has it Pluto still exists but was relocated by the Federation in 3149 to a secret orbital location as part of a secret super weapon to be used as a weapon of last resort should they be successfully invaded by overwhelming Imperial forces. The Federal heirarchy deny any knowledge of any such plan, stating that Pluto was stolen by Thargoid pirates. These denials however have only served to confirm the rumour in the minds of the masses. The Emporer's only comment was that the rumours must be false because any super weapon mounted on a planet as small as Pluto could not possibly hope to defeat their forces, should ever have need to invade. He reassured Federal citizens that the Empire currently have no plans for expansion in the direction of the Sol system, but that if they ever did Federal citizens who chose to not resist would be treated fairly and graciously be allowed to serve the Empire as indentured slaves. The bigger question is...
