will you be missing board flipping????

Hi All,
i will be missing it, finaly finding my missions i want to do.....
loving haulage missions, enough to choose from....
Will it be after no more board flipping???
Will you be missing it???
i understand the imersion thing... but still i like to make credits (even though i have more than enough, its a addiction thing :))

:O I am already missing it. Used to be, if the mission board ran out of missions before I ran out of cargo or passenger space I could simply flip the boards and max out my capacity of missions but now, I have to either log out and wait ten minutes for the mission boards to refresh or leave port with unused cargo or passenger capacity. Have already had to do it twice today and given the costs in credits, time and grind of purchasing and outfitting some of these ships, it is annoying not being allowed the opportunity to fill my cargo holds with cargo (or passenger cabins with passengers).

Board flipping did help to load up a Cutter with good paying cargo delivery, passenger missions etc. It could also take awhile. Still Frontier increased the profits of missions so it won't be missed a lot as well as the time involved.

I am not seeing any increase in profits given how mission payouts have been nerfed in recent months. IMO it is sort of like first raising prices and then offering "discounts" (but in reverse).

Nope, never did it (except to see what it was all about) so it doesn't bother me.

I wouldn't be surprised if, however, there are hiccups related to it's removal but I hope that, in the end, it'll be a good thing because it'll reveal any shortcomings of the mission system that need fixing.

Also, it'll put everybody "on the same page" with regard to earnings, for better or worse.
There won't be the current disparate views on earnings as a result of one bunch of people board-flipping and another bunch refusing to do it.
If people think earnings are too low, chances are that a LOT of people will share that sentiment.

I cannot speak for combat missions. I have delivered 54 politicians one jump for 13 million credits in a Cutter and 120/180 cargo deliveries for up to 8 million in a Python. These are the best and rarest but still plenty of multi-million missions to easily make 20-30 million/hour without breaking a sweat...or board flipping.

I just hope the mission board is always full and has varied activities. Was trying to help our group win an election and often times our faction would only have 2 pirate missions. That's it. Literally only 2 missions. How am i supposed to do anything with that?

I am currently earning roughly 25-30 million per 15 minute lap running passengers between Robigo and Sothis, making hay while the Sun still shines as it were but having to leave at least one cabin empty each lap because I cannot flip the mission boards. Flipping boards is nice when I spend over 500 million on a (Type-10) ship advertised as being the amazing, awesome Thargoid battle-wagon but isn't and I have to recoup my loss.

I won't miss it one little bit, providing FDev have added more missions and choice

Nope.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the feedback you have provided thus far. I wanted to jump in and answer a few questions and discussion points raised:

Will we be increasing the amount of mission options so that players have more choice?

We won’t be increasing the amount of missions spawned initially. We will however be reducing the time it takes for a mission board to spawn new missions from 15 to 10 minutes. This means that players should overall see more variety and it won’t take as long for new missions to appear on the board.

Never felt the need to do it, so will never miss it :)
I do understand those for whom playing Cr/Hr is reliant on flipping, lets hope missions are better when the change happens.

As with the suicidewinder exploit, board flipping is something I will be glad to see the back of. Hopefully it should allow mission templates (and quantities) to be adjusted with more finesse.

There will be other exploitable loopholes, there always are. Perhaps the benefits of Combat Logging will eventually be effectively removed too.

I board flipped all the time; it was incredibly handy.

Got unfilled cargo space/Passenger cabins and want to maximize that tonnage? Board Flip.

In the mood for a particular mission type but can't find any? Board Flip.

Trying to make that Sol permit mission spawn? Board Flip.

Trying to make that rank-up mission spawn? Board Flip.

I ths forum, that only left *a few* fanboys you will never see a diferent result.

There is a poll that you can get the answers you want:

Again, the focus on this changes are NOT fixing the problem (The trash missions overfloading the board) those changes will only deny the hability to chose missions from the player.

Not if you play BGS-stuff...

The poster I was answering to explicitely said they were looking to bounty hunt, but couldn't because "no mission" let them. They weren't looking to play the BGS.

Besides, claiming bounties has an impact on the BGS, on top of the ship kills. Not that you need to board flip to play the BGS either, whether you're doing so by bounty hunting or any other means.
