I don't like it.
I don't like Metro, I don't like the "unity - the same experience over different devices" philosophy, I don't like to be required to sign-in into Microsoft services, which I don't like or use, to be able to use Windows.
I also don't like them for selling old features as something new (multi-desktop, resizing apps window, etc.).

I wonder if you'll still have to pay $99 extra to watch DVD's

If you paid $99 for VLC player, you've been had!
You may have to with VLC for iOS since it has been removed from the Apple Store again, but luckily for me I backed mine up on iTunes
