Sounds like a really nice update! Thanks, FD for acting so quickly.

In a minor update released before the end of the week we’ll reduce the price of non-trade ships and abolish the way fuel costs are scaled by ship type. What’s more, some of the smaller ships, like the Sidewinder will gain a powerful new advantage as their reduced profile makes them more effective for smuggling.

Are the changes for smuggling included in this patch?

The Sell Exploration Data page seems to crash out when selling data....

I will post in bugs too, but thought i'd give a heads up here

The Vulture is WAY too good for that price. 15M ok, but not 5M. What do pilots of large ships get to better defend against this new threat?

Have one myself and dropped a Master Anaconda without too much fancy flying... although got 15% hull damage because I rammed the Anaconda with low shields by accident. ;-)

That's 5m BASE.

You still have to upgrade it, and that won't be cheap.

Bit of a bug.

Logged in, did repairs and hull integrity, all back to 100%.

Started to cash in exploration data, first 3 ok then game crashed on 4th (100k+ system). Came back in to the game and repairs and hull integrity has reverted back to pre-repair status. Tried to cash the 100k exploration data again and the game crashed, again.

Anyone else getting the previous system's system map come up the first time you open the System map? Corrects it when you open it again.

Bug reported it. Happens to me every system I jump to, Have to open system map twice. Really annoying!

Nice to see the community is being listened to tho!

There seems to be a bug with the System Map now, when i access it it shows the last system i was in, i have to go out and go into it again for it to show the current system.

Relax. This was expected. Those defending the status quo and those complaining have simply switched rolls.

Also, to be fair, the extremness of the discount may ruffle a few feathers.

it is the time and place to give the devs a break, they are listinging and they are fast about the changes.
we will be getting the discount sum back they said. so noone did "waste" money.
and 5mil is perfect for the vulture. i dont belive in pure "balance via pricetag" anyhow.

So does anyone else think that making fuel costs equivalent for all ships is kind of silly?

I mean, a bigger ship SHOULD use more fuel. Fuel costs are part of the reality of owning a (star)ship.

I am not saying that the fuel costs on the big ships was appropriate. I have no opinion on that, since I haven't flown anything bigger than a Cobra (where the fuel costs seemed very appropriate before they were reduced). But the idea that ALL ships have the SAME fuel cost? Silly.

This is a relatively minor issue, and it works in the players' favor. But it still breaks the believability a bit when I can fully refuel my Cobra for less than 1,000 Cr.

I think you have slightly misunderstood this.

Before a gallon of fuel would cost a Sidwinder 1CR, an Asp 4CR, a Python 16CR (for example) This was completely silly as if you drive a Ferrari or a Ford Fiesta the price comes from where you get the fuel not what the vehicle you drive is.

So after the update we are all paying the same amount per "gallon" (unit) of fuel as the next person. It still costs 4 times as much to fuel if you happen to have a ship with 4 times the fuel capacity.

Massive thanks to the team here, I think the changes are great and you really are listening to what the community as a whole are telling you about your game.

Eagle: 4000
Cobra: 8000
Viper: 10000
Asp: 14000
Python: 26000
Anac: 36000

so far, so good - the hunting season is on. thank you.

It would be nicer for all the explorers especially those who just turned in data recently to have a retroactive bonus. You kept track of first discovered before, so maybe it's possible for them?

The problem with this is if FD make a habit out of giving this money back they will be doing it forever. Prices go up, prices go down and players accepted it at the time they sold data or bought a ship.

If you want to apply something retroactively who is going to decide the cut off date? Some people will just moan they were only outside the cut off by one day, one week or whatever. Why is it fair to even create a cut off and apply it all the way back to launch? What happens then? It just opens a particularly awkward can of worms.
