While I approve of this, I think it sets a dangerous (pun intended) precedent for people to "request" in-game tributes for famous people who are no longer with us. Is there a starport named after Leonard Nimoy? Robin Williams? The crew of the Challenger Shuttle? You can't arbitrarily out of the blue add a starport in tribute to someone, as noble as the gesture may be, without risking upsetting some people for not adding a starport named after other famous people.

I don't see a problem.

With the last update i would get weird issues with my thrusters and it would go to 100% for a bit without me doing it. Has this happened to anyone else?

Is the "conspicuous" a linear relationship to hull mass? (ie: if i have an adder - the lower i keep my mass the lower the chances of getting scanned)
or is it more like X ship has X chance, based on a flat size description?
thanks. hope that made sense.

Michael,

In a Dev post well before 1.2 dropped, you mentioned being able to set celestial objects as a destination. Such as a station or planet so when you arrive in the system the compass shows you the way to the object. You said this would release in 1.2 but we can't currently do this...

Complete opposite for me - loads of big targets

Sir Terry Pratchet was as famous as The harry potter woman in the UK, the comapny is in the UK with tons of UK people in it it does make sense that an homage to Pratchet take place ;)
every ones even the don't even read a book from him to know about discworld, Deuxfleur, rincewind (I know the french name translation) or Mortimer, the leg lugguage, see a draw on the net, or something coming from his work ;)

With the communauty goal and the discovery goal some player will be able to name some system.

for my part I dream about a firefly/serenity system, with miranda, with haven, etc ... where you can only by a firefly class frighter, only sold in this system :) with a faction look a like the reavers and a warzone called Battle of serenity valley between the feds and the alliance :D A system of the fringe of know space :D

BTW tribute to the great fallen person seems perfectly legits !

And a reminder there is 400 millions astronomical object it leaves place to name them from every dead people you like for years :D

Considering I'm a huge Terry Pratchett Fan, Having all 45 (Discworld) books, paper and ebook, also an avid player of the Discworld Mud (have been since the 90's) I'm very very happy to see that a station will carry his name to the stars. I may even wander over there, when I find it and make it my homebase for a while.

And for those that have no idea what a MUD is, it's multi user Dimension/Dungeon. A game that has no graphics and you type everything.. it looks like this.

and that's all from me :)

- Added Pratchett's Disc starport
I don't suppose you'd like to join in with getting Pratchett immortalised in the clacks? Some webmasters are adding a hidden message in their servers response header with his name in.

The Guardian did a good article on it, and now that I have the google chrome plugin I can see that their webmasters joined in too (other newspapers have reported on it too, but I've not seen any others light up yet)

It would be great to see more big companies join in, and now that we have an in-game memorial I thought you might be open to adding your web servers to help him live on in the clacks.

I have no problem navigating in a Galaxy filled with stations named after famous sentient beings...even if they aren't necessarily human. ;)

Grrr, are we really checking these updates, the group location is still wrong!
Instead of just "Main Menu" we just get "SOLO" or "Private Group" , its used to specify the system each person was in.
Suggest that the aim of the fix was not clearly specified.
