Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I was watching some animalogic and saw that the sand cat video had over 10M views, I wonder if the sand cat was the meme animal of the arid pack... Because if there is indeed this concept of a meme animal or just an animal that is popular in the internet I think shoebill and pallas cat do have a lot of potential.
Just looked up that channel, not to mention that there are videos of animals that got added in the game already with million views (Maned Wolf, Fossa, Wombat, Tassie, etc). This makes sense now...

Hey so question. How would you feel if Frontiers new game turned out to be Planet Aviary?. They have surely heard a thousand people ask for birds by now, and they like to fill out niches that are unmet in the gaming industry....
If it will be an PZ2 Addon (not only a DLC) it would be Ok for me also with Marine animals.

Okay, here’s a discussion:

What unpopular or unmentioned DLC do you want?

I would probably go with Urban or Petting Zoo.
The infamous Domestics pack. Not petting zoo not fuzzy monkeys, coatis, walrus or whatever else is apparently suitable enough for kids to scream their lungs out at.

Good old domestic animals, give me fluffy sheep, highland cow, goats, chickens, huge pigs, rabbits EVERYTHING farm related.

Not gonna lie, this is probably my most wanted pack at the moment. A proper barnyard/domestic pack, with Highland Cattle, African Dwarf Goats, Kunekune Pigs and a horse species. My preference would be a larger horse like a Clydesdale or Gallineer’s Cob, but Planet Zoo would likely do a Shetland Pony instead.

Monkey Animal Pack. Seven habitat species of monkeys (no lemurs or related animals, no gibbons, just monkeys), and five tamarin/marmoset species for the WTE. No scenery necessary but a new collection of climbing equipment would be fun (including longer curved ropes), and elevated nest boxes that function the same way as burrows.

Hurricane Lee’s gonna hit Massachusetts tmr. it should only be like tropical storm weather but the winds already picking up.
Here in Maine we have been doing storm prep, docks have been pulled, boats are on mooring and the seals have disappeared from their haul out spots.
The gray seals and harbor seals have favorite areas where they haul out, but they typically leave when winds pick up and storms hit Maine. Don’t see them again until a week or so after said storm.

For me, it's definitely a "treetops/arboreal animals" theme. It would serve as a prime pack for the tree kangaroo, help fill many of the key Latin American gaps, could be used to slot in an additional Asian monkey (or two?), and of course... It would be yet another opportunity for birds.

Most of the animals are pretty commonly wanted but the pack theme itself doesn't get discussed as often as it should be, IMHO. Especially if there's limited packs left.

I've simmered on domestics/petting zoo and will continue to be that way until we get confirmation that support/DLC will continue beyond the next ~2 packs.

People sleep on golden-snub nosed monkeys in any mountain pack. It is meme animal and unlike baboons it is also found in cliche cold mountains people like to favor (with spectacled bear weirdly being expection), so everything aligns.
With animals like quokka, sand cat and sloth it seems baboons have fierce competition.
Less sleeping on them, more prioritising more common zoo monkeys like a baboon.

And now lets go the other way, what do you feel is the most overrated pack idea being thrown around?
Gotta be a Safari Pack, either animal or themed. I would've been up for it, but the Arid Animal Pack has soured my opinion on the concept. I'd rather find other ways to get our missing African animals (I'd totally be down for Carnivore and Herbivore dlcs, so long as there's good variety).

Easy: Polar/tundra or even taiga. The rosters tend to feel like a stretch by the time you get to the 3rd or 4th species. And while a lot of the animals look cool I'm just not sure they'd be all that interesting to build. (No offense to anybody but... To me, the walrus and musk ox are the opposite of in-game interesting to me.)

I'd swap the horse or pig for a generic domestic chicken. Along with goats they're the universal presence in zoo barnyards.

I agree with literally every word of this lol.
