I have nothing to add to speculation that hasn't already been said. To be honest though, I don't really care all too much what the theme is - I just got my dream pack and I haven't even had the time to build for everything in it yet.
Assuming its an animal pack, I just hope its more diverse than the last. I'm finding it a little sad how normalized it is both in fan-made rosters and official packs for carnivorans and ungulates to have multiple representatives (I get that people are following Frontier's pattern of what's realistic - but I'm sure they still look at our rosters to see what we want at the end of the day, why not slide in a little more diversity?), and yet whenever the same is done with birds (a far more diverse group) its somehow "too much". With how far behind the habitat bird roster is compared to mammals I would think we should be seeing at least two per animal pack. Surely something like a crane and a duck are just as, if not more distinct from one another, as the multiple felids and canids that have been included together in packs before? Birds are an incredibly diverse group, they aren't some monolith. They fill completely different niches (many of which the game's roster hasn't even filled yet) and one getting in shouldn't negate another. The kiwi and the little penguin are both some of my favorite animals in the whole game, but I don't think they should fill our "bird quota" for this year, especially since they both feel like big ticket birds rather than the filler species the game is even more sorely lacking in.
Kind of a messy thought dump, I dunno. I just hope Frontier listens to the positive feedback they got with Oceania and we'll start seeing multiple birds per pack as less of an exception and more of a rule, at least for animal packs. I'm just finding it kind of ridiculous just how far behind in both numbers and diversity they are (the fact that we only have three birds that aren't penguins or paleognaths is insane to me) and I'm feeling like its getting increasingly harder to justify things like yet another cat or a bear over something like a stork or a swan. I'd happily take just one, its better than the zero Arid and NA had.
