Dang that’s a mouthful lol
Thats the thing with that makes me skeptical about these packs. Narrowing down to names that honestly aren't even marketable to people who don't have a working knowledge of biogeography/geography simply won't sell as well. Southeast Asia works because it's a region that's somewhat commonly dicussed. People could point to it on a map, even if they could name a country from there. The general public doesnt say South Asia, people just say India as exclusive as it is. I don't know if anyone's seen those street trivia videos, but most people (at least Americans) probably couldn't list all 7 continents to save their life. 😂

If Asia gets revisited, I think concepts like Eurasia, plain "Asia", maybe East Asia, and biome/ecosystem packs are a lot more likely. I think packs themed around a specific country are unlikely.

what are your top 10 wanted animals from the continent?
Endemic only:
  1. Reeves's Muntjac: adorable and good companion for the red panda. Very different from any other in-game ungulate
  2. Mandarin Duck: useful waterfowl
  3. Red Shanked Douc: my favorite old world monkey
  4. Pallas's Cat: adorable and ferocious meme animal
  5. Markhor: nostalgic 1st Asian goat
  6. Blackbuck: iconic 1st Asian antelope
  7. Grey Langur: India needs a monkey
  8. Golden Pheasant: pretty bird
  9. Golden Snub Nosed Monkey: iconic and important monkey for China
  10. Raccoon Dog: Tom Nook
Honorable Mentions: Golden Takin (interesting goat), Fishing Cat (interesting), Nilgai (mix with blackbuck), Lady Amherst's Pheasant (pretty bird 2), Lion Tailed Macaque

I feel like Rhea is more important cause it can add to mix enclosures with anteater, capybara etc. the pheasant isn’t as useful for those kinds of enclosures, or at least I haven’t seen any enclosures with mixed pheasants in them.
So for appeal, the pheasant wins, but for usability, the Rhea wins (imo).

Do you think if it's Mountain Animal Pack, do you think the Tree Kangaroo can make it in?
Slim chances, it depends what they choose for the other 6 species. If they choose the Wolverine (new rig) and 5 clones, then maybe it has a chance. But because I think there’s more important animals that need work like Gelada, I would keep it out until next year.

I really don't think so. It's stretch to even include and needs completely new rig and animations. If we ever get it, I think it's going to be in pack centered around it

I want the Tree Kangaroo so bad, but yeah I get what you trying to say. I want tree kangaroo SO bad at the game like idk what i want more tree kangaroo or two-toed sloth and that's probably wouldn't happen in mountain pack lol.

Do you think if it's Mountain Animal Pack, do you think the Tree Kangaroo can make it in?
I really hope not, it ruins the chances for any unique cold mountain animals that deserve it much more than an animal that failed to turn up in the oceania pack. I still partially want the tree kangaroo but in an arboreal or forest themed pack so it can be the center of attention. Animals like the wolverine, primates or any other unique mountain animal that require new rigs should be the focus of the pack.

People have had their doubts due to how unique they are, especially their locomotion. I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they endemic to Highlands, so on paper they are a perfect pick. They are the animal I want most after New World monkeys but I just don't know if Frontier will do it, but I will pathetically cry happy tears if they do. I think even with the protest with Oceania, I don't know if they would have the time to change their plans to include it. My fingers are crossed so hard though.

I guess since we're talking all things Asia, I'm curious, what are your top 10 wanted animals from the continent? I'm going with endemic species for mine, but if yours extends into North America or Europe that's ok!

In no particular order:
1. Sichuan Takin
2. Markhor
3. Reeve's Muntjac
4. Guar
5. Blackbuck
6. François's Langur
7. Lion-Tailed Macaque
8. Japanese Serow
9. Sloth Bear
10. Pallas's Cat
Oh, Good question! For me, from least to most wanted...
  • Yellow-throated Marten (a pretty oddball)
  • Demoiselle Crane (prettiest feathers)
  • Pallas' Cat (alternative to sand cat as I said many times before)
  • Tanuki (have to include a short-legged small canid!)
  • Indian Muntjac (about as exotic as small deer get...)
  • Domestic Yak (staple and gives Himalayas a needed herbivorous representative)
  • Greater Malayan Chevrotain (a personal fave!)
  • Sloth Bear (cutest bear aside from Pandas!)
  • Golden Jackal (I'd actually use it as a sub for Serengeti jackals/wolves)
  • Japanese Serow (very unique! and a true Endemic)
