WIP update 09/08/18 :
8 weeks have passed now, and as a small group of 10 commanders, we managed to complete 58% of the drawing. And we're not done yet.
This is a titanic project, and I feel tiredness is slowly reaching us all.
Whoever you are, whatever you do, you can help ! Every little bit counts, even a few hundred light years !
Here is what we managed to draw for the two past months. It can give you an idea on how it could look when it will be complete (don't pay attention to the colors):

Whoever you are, dear explorer, today I need your help to achieve the biggest drawing of an Elite Dangerous community logo on the galaxy map ! (tbh I don't know if it's the biggest but I felt it was kinda big though)
Let's get to the heart of the matter.
That's what I came up with :
1.100.000 light years
1600 waypoints
This is not something a single Cmdr can do alone, but I'm sure it will look pretty lovely if many commanders could team up together to realize this drawing. I made a google sheet where I defined all the waypoints we'd have to go to, it is accessible here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1A6jDoLkP4edIrcCRCFbc6OX2qzw_rGuxyE3KcunA54w/edit?usp=sharing
I'd need about 60 commanders so everyone would have about 13kly to travel (from 2 to 36kly). I really don't know how many people would like to participate into this, but I can easily reallocate parts of the drawing if more or less people are into it.
//WIP edit : If you don't feel doing more than a few hundred light years, there's absolutely no problem with that. It really easy to reallocate parts to fit your wishes. There's about 450 kly left to draw, but keep in mind that every little helps

I cut the big drawing into smaller parts. Each waypoint is designated by a pair of coordinates, X and Z (plane of the milky way). You'll first have to find the closest system possible for each coordinates, and then plot a route, going from waypoint to waypoint.
The objective is, in the end, to collect the log files of the cmdrs involved, to be able to redraw their path at the same time, on the same image. It would look like the one I did for the Elite logo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB15JSz0cr8), but this time with the logo taking shape from every corner at the same time (like that : https://youtu.be/ejXhet8hFFw). That would be done thanks to CMDR Orvidius' fabulous tool (https://edastro.com/).
Please consider the followings guidelines before enlisting yourself:
So, if you are interested, I set up a discord server (https://discord.gg/Hq78mxX) where you will be able to chose a part of drawing to be assigned to you, and find more detailed information. Also, it will be easier for communications. You can also come if you want to have a talk with us.

- I'll ask you to use EDiscovery (https://github.com/EDDiscovery/EDDiscovery/wiki) during your trip. It'll be much easier to collect the log files at the end.
- Be aware that long trip in the vastness of the galaxy can cause mental illness after several weeks of exploration; only apply if you know you will do your part and not leave before finishing it.
- Don't hesitate to call the Fuel Rats themselves if you run out of fuel during your trip (https://fuelrats.com/); I'm sure they'll be really happy to help you out.
- You are free to use the ship you want
- The drawing is centered on the following coordinates : [X:0 Z:20000]. The drawing has a diameter of 40kly. (i.e. you might first need to travel up to 40kly before reaching the first waypoint of your drawing)
- Special Craziness award: the one who scans the most icy planets on his way will win a special prize
- Don't forget to bring a case of Lavian brandy and some Onion Heads with you
- It's the first "event" I organize, please be indulgent
