Bought and paid for the original "Elite" way back in the last century, game was terrific. So when the modern version came out. I paid 100 English pounds plus another 35 pounds for it. Alas! after hours and hours of attempting to to dock my ship I think I fluked it just 4 times and as for docking on the pad ..... NEVER. Frustration finally won and I gave up playing. After all its meant to be enjoyable right?
Then along comes the April 23 patch which I miss-read as being easier for beginners so I forked out A$84.95 and again bought the damn game. Again alas no simplification to the space-station entry or docking. The improvements only apply to players who have already mastered the docking procedure.
I would like to suggest that on purchasing "Elite" there is a further option to further purchase a docking computer for say A$20 dollars. I will now go do battle to retrieve my A$84.95.![]()
I do not want to appear insensitive, but I really do not get these docking problems. If you have some special disabilities, then ignore this remark.
If you watch a few youtube videos by the many helpful fellow cmdrs and do the tutorial missions then docking should be no problem.
I could dock right from the get go and I am no space jockey myself
I do not know what you use to control your ship. I do use HOTAS.
When in the FREE Sidewinder you have no reason to hold back. Don't be afraid and make as many mistakes as you want.
Others already explained that this is nonsense. The new features are installed in every noob ship right from the get go.The improvements only apply to players who have already mastered the docking procedure.
As for the money you dished out... that is completely unnecessary. There are so many sales these days. I just looked around a bit. Even without special sales I can find Elite for 9.95 and Horizons for no more than 15 bucks. The Deluxe edition for PC can be found for 35 bucks.
