It is a bit weird that is doesn't address the owner differently. Considering what they charge for the voice packs, they are all a bit of a low effort. I've not spent too much time thinking about it but it seems like they have around 3 to 4 stages and recorded around 3 samples for each stage. The voices are probably just people that work in the office anyway, I doubt they are getting Royalties, so why not just add a bit more variety?

The sound design in Elite is generally fantastic, the lack of variation with voice packs is odd.

I've already bought a FC and it's a complete horrific mess. I've been unable to buy one, unable to jump, I've been stuck in a system because the countdown didn't work properly (fixed now evidently) and now I actually don't know where I am. I could be still in the system that I started prior to jump sequence but then again I could have made the 493 ly jump to my new destination, who knows. (no audio, no warnings, no countdown, the map says I'm in one place and my FC says something completely different ).... And now, NOW, I'm getting an Mauve adder match making mess. --------------- sake, after 5 years I should know better to walk away for a bit but this has got to be worst messy update since year dot! NO excuse for this now guys, not after 5 years or whatever it is!

seems more likely the voices are just synthesized. Not sampled.

I'm disappointed in not being treated special by my own ship....but then the lack of variety and the lack of intelligently picking the right dialogue to use in a given situation is an issue in every aspect of the game. So not very new or unique to carriers.

Which may be why I’m not expecting to be treated with any pomp or ceremony when I turn up at my FC.

I’m just pleased to have got rid of the dreadful robot voice that we had in Beta. If down the line Blaine starts acting like we’ve got to know one another that would be great but for now I just need someone to turn the landing lights on .... at least he does more than that layabout I’ve got down in the Tritium depot.

Now that Fleet Carriers are released I hope the team who worked on them can be put into action working on adding these features. I'd like to see FC ATC and more reworks of existing systems

The Robot ATC's sound and redundant statements reminds me of the Starwars Clone Wars era battle droids. I expect it to say roger roger at any moment.

I'm not buying an FC ATC Voice until it is voiced as a Wookie. It doesn't have to be Chewbacca per se, but no crazy accents, or Wookie-as-a-second-language types. A Wookie should get payed for this.

I bought Blaine as the ATC as I had problems understanding the robot voice. Bad move, he seems to be under the impression it is "our" carrier and is constantly warning me to keep my speed down and "we'll get along fine", oh really? I'm constantly treated like a stranger and don't feel welcome on something I ground my arriss off to buy. If we had space legs, I swear I would hunt him down and punch him in the chops! I suspect all the other ATC's in the store would come with this attitude so the only option is fire Blaine and go back to Robbie the robot. At least I can't understand what it's saying most of the time.

FDevs, fix it for owners to be treated as such or Blaine goes out the airlock!
