For xbox: remap your boost or landing gear combo so they are separate.
For PC: don't map your boost and landing gear keys near each other.

Learn when you are beaten and it's time to run... flogging a dead horse in battle will only get you killed, and NEVER, repeat NEVER spend your insurance money (no matter how tempted).

When planning for your next ship, remember the module costs too (a poorly equipped Anaconda is worse that an A rated Sidewinder!) and most importantly factor in insurance costs to make sure you have more than 5% of your total spend left!!

really..a year of advice and no one told the noob about one of the FIRST frustrations.....??

there is only ONE way to land on a pad....facing the right way! thats right, there IS a right way to be facing

lol. Figured that one out when i just couldn`t get a landing. Rotated around in frustration- Instant land!

My noob tip that`s really obvious except to me- The game plays in REAL TIME even solo. If you have 4 hours left to do a job, don`t quit and sleep overnight!

When going through Missions look for more than one mission going to the same place before you hit Accept. Sometimes you can find 2 or 3 Missions from one Station that all have the same destination.

Data does not take up Cargo Space.

If using Mouse/Keyboard get Thrustmaster T-Flight X Hotas ($50), makes ED so much better. Like you are piloting a spaceship. Tons better experience for $50.

If using a Console, get a PC.
