Ships Work in Progress: Complete Full Colour ED Ship Size Chart

This cute little Horizons teaser picture can't hold a candle to your chart, but perhaps it works as an additional motivation for you to - again - deliver the real deal :p

It also shows a nice size comparison between the current largest ship - the Anaconda - and the new two behemoths, the Cutter and the Corvette!

Ooh, sweet. :) Where does this come from?

One other thing - can't find the answer just roughly scanning the thread: are you planning to include the small fighters currently exclusive to CQC in the chart, too? I'd love to see same at the same scale as the Anaconda to get an even better grasp of the scale of the ships.

Or will that be to difficult, since you'd have to take the pictures in CQC where people will probably shooting you all the time? That would mean you'd have to wait for ship-launched fighters to be released during season 2 before you could include them in your chart, right?

Yes, the latter. Currently, I can't get good pictures of the small fighters. In CQC, the debug cam doesn't work, and apparently you cannot turn off the HUD, so there's always something in the way.

during horizons I landed a cobra on the bridge of a cutter :/ Screenshot_0068.png

This is simply the most useful and beautiful infographic I've seen to date. It's easy to get a inaccurate mental model of the relative sizes of the ships, but having your poster up as the wallpaper in my second monitor helps keep things straight. It also hammers home the different makes, and how they all have a similar touch to them. And since I just wiped my save, I'll be able to actually work towards the smaller ships that they've come out with that I've never flown before.

Eagerly awaiting your update to include the ships in 1.5/2.0. I know things will be getting tight, so perhaps a 16:9 layout would give a bit more parking space?

That's some high praise, thanks. :)

The chart is still mainly thought to be used as poster to print and hang on the wall. In so far, changing the aspect ratio is not really an option just to gain space. I still have some things I can adjust to make at least a bit more space (e.g. the caption sizes). That said, a specific wallpaper version of the chart in 16:9 and 16:10 is still planned.

@Janichsan: any news on the Horizons version of your chart? Really looking forward to it! :D
Yes! It's done. :D

The first post has been edited correspondingly.

I picked up on that sometime after my last post on this thread, and definitely plan on getting a poster made. Thanks again for your great work! Do you have any plans on sticking an SRV over near the cargo canister or human?
