"working on something secret for PC and Mac"

I'd be surprised if it was landings/walking around, I'd think FD would rather finish the base game before starting on the expansions, although I really wanna zoom around in my moon buggy!!

...and not a single wish for something deeper and more varied to do in the game? Wouldn't you like to go on convoy raiding missions in your Wings of ten, maybe for a special Powerplay missions for example? And maybe a counter mission set by the enemy Power sends their CMDRs to defend said convoy?

Why not tiered missions with persistent NPCs, assuming they don't in the missions where you need to protect them for example?

Why not far more things to witness, discover and see while exploring, even just flying around?

I just can't understand people wanting more "thin" things to do, before more sand has been thrown into the sandbox? ie: So you walk around a station and do what? Look out windows?

In order to compare things currently in the game, they have been working on a "Flatulence in a Spacesuit" mod.

Oh you mean like finishing the base game before doing CQC? FD say virtually nothing, so we don't have their word to go on. Their actions say they are chasing money, and damn the core of the game. Expansions = more money for FD. Core of the game does not. I fully expect them to be well past starting the expansions, and to be close to 'finishing' the first one.

Its going to be something small not huge.

I think its going to be unlocking some locked areas of space and maybe intelligent aliens. Thats at most i think.

Eh that's small is it lol? That would be flipping huge! It would alter the whole game completely giving us a really good focus to the gameplay (other than dull politics and commercialism). Could you have picked anything bigger lol?

I totally agree, hopefully FD will add all this in 1.4 and 1.5, then the first expansion!

Maybe by some slim chance walking around inside ships and adding NPCs.

FD doesnt have a large dev team like star citizen has. So dont expect anything better then what star citizen has or is getting. FD will be i would guess at least a year or 2 behind star citizen.

You know SC 1.0 will come out at the end of 2016, right?

Money = more funding for development, CQC is a way to attract console customers, and a nice little bonus for the core game, I really doubt they are close to finishing the first expansion, FD have always seemed to be fairly good at prioritizing development, and there's more important stuff to be getting on with, like the remainder of the core game.

It doesn't hurt to be optimistic every now and then :)

I also suspect that FD will continue to lay in foundation mechanics in 1.4 and 1.5 this year - first was MP aspects, Wings, meta game trough CG and PP - and now it's for them to put in web of contacts, as awfully lot of things depend on it.

You're quoting the wrong person if you are hoping for optimism. :D

(@ASIE - sorry couldn't resist :p)

Money = more funding for development,

Why do people use this as a defense? This game was kickstarted, they asked for the amount needed to complete the game that was detailed on the kickstarter. If FD can't provide what they promised with the money they had from the kickstarter then that was their mistake. If they wanted to keep moving the goalposts during development, then they should never have used Kickstarter.

Er, no. The kickstarter raised about 1.5 Million. The game as delivered (i.e. well short of the vision in the kickstarter) cost about 8 Million. The kickstarter did not pay for the game, and FD never thought that it would. What the kickstarter did do was prove that there was demand for the game they described, and FD were able to use that to leverage their IPO, which brought in the money needed. It is probably fair to say that without the kickstarter the game would not have happened, but is not fair to say that the kickstarter funded it.

Putting the kickstarter numbers into some sort of context: based on the numbers that we hear signed up for the XBox version in the first few days after it was announced, then XBox players have already provided more money than the kickstarters did.

The more money = more development to do the stuff we want argument is perfectly OK, as long as we see FD using that money to actually do that development. We see no real sign of that, though we do see signs of them using that money to do stuff that was not what the game we were sold was described as.
