Biggest FD "crime" - and I still think they should have said that around middle of 2014 - was saying that not everything they envisioned will be with 1.0. It would take time to sink that in, but it would make less problems down the road (in my opinion). However, my guess they evaluated situation and decided that it won't matter as such announcement would cause same nerd rage and more toxic atmosphere before release.
Still, if I was FD, I would take that risk - just to avoid people feel bad about hyping game which won't arrive in whole. They intentions most likely has been good, but they mishandled whole thing and unecessary soured release in my opinion (even more than offline mode).
Is that redeemable? Yes, I think so. Despite what you think, we have three big updates with big selection of improvements. Despite you like PP or not, it's big addition to the game and people don't rule it outright, or just play it and admit it has extended game for them. Again, it might be something you don't look forward to, doesn't mean it's bad for game.
Next six months however will be important. For ED to stick it's core elements should be finished - so they really can move forward with pushing extensions out. It's hard to extend core gameplay if there's expansion that plays around it. Well, at least it's extra job.
I personally would like to see updates coming faster, although my geek mind says it's not technically possible.
