To answer my own question after actually viewing the trailer:
It's even worse than I feared, we get a regular (default Boosterbike) and futuristic (Disney's Tron) model train on the same Vekoma motorbike track. So one tracked ride (that may or may not be similar to the ones we already have) and one coaster? Come on Frontier, you're better than that.

Actually both motorcycle models are "modern". One looks like a touring motorcycle (think Honda Goldwing) and the other is like a racing motorcycle (a bit like the Honda CBR300R). No complains here, I'm a motorcycle enthusiast. [squeeeeee]

In all fairness, in Planet Coaster Frontier always treats every coaster with a different
train" as an independent ride.

I wouldn’t base your assessment off an extremely short trailer...

I’m very happy with this update. It isn’t a flat ride nor a true coaster update so I don’t see the point moaning about the lack of either. As will all paid updates, if you’re not happy with the content, don’t buy it!

But it’s the same every update. If it’s scenery heavy, people moan about flat rides or coasters, if it’s ride heavy, people moan about the lack of scenery, if it contains a scattering of stuff, they’ll moan about the depth of what’s offered. If it contained absolutely everything people wished for there would still be some muppet in the corner blurting out “RAIN” or “WATER PARK”.

It’s a business. They have limited resources. They’ve said how time consuming it is to make this stuff so time for some to get a little realistic and stop ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ on the parade every time a piece of good news is released.

Now fingers crossed for the pack to contain plenty of scenery per country. Though with 10 countries included it might not be realistic to want this...


ps: I thought there was a big chance for the livestream happening tomorrow, and then the other 'open' date would be the thememakers toolkit questions stream. Perfect fit in the schedule [big grin]Reason why I thought this is because there used to be a Wednesday stream pretty much every single week (unless game convention). So I'm kind of wondering now if this was permanently changed or if it is just an October thing.

Remember that they're also working on the Thememakers toolkit, so they've got a lot on their plate, and we've got more coming up than just this. Although I'm disappointed at no new flat ride this time, what we're getting looks good and I'm looking forward to it. I've been wanting a kabob shop in my pirate parks, thanks Frontier! Hopefully we'll soon get a generic shop counter and the ability to assign whatever we want to it, that'd make these more versatile.

We also don't know what else they're working on in the background. It would be so naive to think that this sort of content is conceptualised, designed, implemented and tested since the last DLC. Some of this stuff could have been in planning for the last year.. and so, the content of the future is probably at least planned...

So yes.. a re-skin of the same coaster is frustrating, especially in the world where we can't easily swap out the trains (well we can to an extent), then this is a happy work around. Plus it's a new coaster type at least. It's not another reskinned woodie or boomerang. That's a plus, surely?

Thanks, Frontier! I'm really looking forward to this DLC (and 1.8)! Even with only 2 of the national themes shown up close (and a couple more in the background), I can already see a million uses for putting the new theme parts out of context ;). These parts will be a huge help in making all kinds of stuff and reducing part count, besides working for their intended purposes. Yay! :D

No new flat rides this time? You gave us five new flats in the Vintage pack but now none? No chairlift? I’m kind of disappointed in this pack. Two coasters I’ll probably never use, and some weird futuristic transport ride. I’m guessing this is it for new content for 2018 besides the Thememaker Toolkit. Unless you have something up your sleeves for Nov or Dec.

I said a few posts ago that what we're getting looks good, but on closer look at the motercycle rides they aren't what I thought, similiar to the single-seat RCT2 bike/horse rides. These are hard-paired and don't look like you can send a single bike through, never mind one car at a time. More disappointed in the rides now. [downcast]

THIS! Happy if we're still getting some kind of sushi, but another seafood option like batter-fried whitefish would be helpful (I want it for Atlantean parks, but there are plenty of places where fish'n'chips is common fare.)

Will we be able to swap different trains on to the Jixxer/Interceptor? Will we be able to swap their trains onto other coasters?

According to an interview Sam Denney did with PCGamesN the scenery piece count is over 300 so this probably amounts to approximately 30 pieces per country.

Yessssssssssss! I'm liking where this DLC pack is heading. And so nice to see that we are getting new stalls, Woohoo!

Although a little frustrating because I started making a "Desert Dunes" section in Adventure World, [tongue]

I wish there were new flat rides with this new DLC. Maybe since Frontier is working on the theme maker tool kit the next DLC will have more flat rides fingers crossed.
