Hardware & Technical X52 Y Axis problem

Hi all!
Before anything, let me say I've been at this for hours now, googling and trying some fixes etc... I might be a bad looker, but I can't find anything that helps.

I have Win 8.1, and just today got my new X52 PRO. Straight to the problem, my Y Axis (Pitch up/down) wont recenter. I've reset it several times, through registry etc, and I have the newest drivers and software straight from saitek. The gap is also too big to adjust deadzones, would make the stick really awkward to use. The only difference between my resets is whether it doesn't recenter on the way up or way down, which leads me to believe it is a software issue, and not a hardware issue.
I'm hoping theres some X52 veterans here who knows of any fixes for this?

I've just bought a standard X52 and have the same\similar issues. There seems to be a lag when moving the flightstick which makes dogfighting a complete no go. Hoping someone can advise us both here :D

never had that issue, but just in case give it a try without the saitek software. pretty cool idea of a program but very unstable and i never got it to work reliably. it's not really needed anyway. no need to uninstall, just fully close that thing and see how it goes.

also, keep the driver control panel open while using the stick.

sounds bizarre but these two measures did fix several issues with my x52 pro, and i had plenty of them (mostly buttons never/randomly not working). except the throttle still sometimes de-centers. doesn't happen often but it's annoying because the only remedy i know of is unplugging the device, then plugging it in again, then reopening the control panel. and it can always get worse: there's a small chance that windows locks up completely doing this, and it's time to hit that hard reset button. no good for immersion, i'm considering sticking an 'eject' label on it :D

other than that it's a nice piece of hardware, once you solve that issue you will love it.

It is indeed a nice bit of hardware - the software that comes with it though, that's another story  I recommend you uninstall the Saitek software, I run mine with just the drivers now.

Have you tried this?

The answer finally came from MadCatz Software and the following worked perfectly.
Thank you for contacting the European Tech Support Team for Mad Catz.
First of all, please be advised that SPAD and FSUIPC are plugins used for panels in FS9 and below, thus installing either SPAD or FSUIPC ( which is no longer used for our panels) will not solve the issue.
Given that the X axis behaves in the same manner in Windows test, it seems that there is a calibration issue In Windows.
One way to recalibrate your device is to reset the raw data values that are held in Windows registry.
To do this:
1. Remove the USB plug for your controller from the PC.
2. Press and hold the Windows key on your keyboard and then press the letter R. This will open the Run box.
3. Type regedit and then click ok.
For Windows Vista/7/8/8.1
4. The Registry Editor will have a list of folders on the left hand side. Go down into the following folders in order by clicking the + next to the folder name.
+ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
+ System
+ CurrentControlSet
+ Control
+ Media Properties
+ Private Properties
+ Joystick
+ OEM
5. Delete any folder inside the Direct Input folder that begins VID_06A3 or VID_0738, if you know the specific PID number or your device then you only need to delete the string that matches the VID and PID.
6. Then navigate to the DirectInput folder
+ HKEY_CURRENT_USER
+ SYSTEM
+ CurrentControlSet
+ Control
+ Media Properties
+ Private Properties
+ DirectInput
7. Delete any folder inside the Direct Input folder that begins VID_06A3 or VID_0738, if you know the specific PID number or your device then you only need to delete the string that matches the VID and PID.
8. Once deleted, close the editor, then plug the USB back into the original port. Move all the axes of the controller through their full range of movement four times. This will rebuilt the data range for all axes.
Cheers,
Mac

Sadly, I have, several times :\ Are you guys only using windows drivers, or just the saitek drivers? I've reinstalled the drivers several times, and tried it without the program, but I don't seem to be able to map all buttons?
Getting late for me now, will be back tomorrow, and keep on fiddling with this :p

Heres an update, if anyones reading this:
Still haven't found a fix, and I'm beginning to wonder if it is an hardware issue. It seems that my stick requires large movement to move the axis, therefore it feels like a lag of some sorts. Thats why it wont center, as I need to move the stick past the center to "drag" the axis into center. Anyone know anything about this?

I think I found a solution to this axis problem:

"Saitek x52 pro axis will behave incorrectly (more output than input in one direction of the X/Y-axis)."

The solution to this is to extremely move the stick in each direction until it reaches the end (the physical end). This will cause to (for whatever reason) refresh the calibration settings to normal and we can use the stick with 1:1 in- and output values.
No change in settings needed. :)

Hope this helps.

well I have had my x52 pro for just over a week...already taking it back for a replacement.
on windows 8.1 it worked as should, all apart from the throttles hat switch..the downward direction fires off to the left lol.....so you can imagine docking is fun!

so I upgrade to a working windows 10 (had to fresh install to make that work)...and now since going to windows 10.with all correct drivers ect...the boost button on the throttle and the pinky on the stick doesn't respond in game...when I press either of them it makes my hat on the stick flash(metal hat with green light)..

phoned pc world this morning and apparently they are out of stock, and don't know when back in.....I got this for horizons wich should be out next week in theory..

looks like im gonna get mugged over...

if only I read and took heed of all the warnings about buying this stick and throttle......since madcatz took it under there wing its suffered quality control issues.

edit-PC world no longer get this hotas or so im told,so got my money back!....ordered a x55 rhino from amazon,if this aint no good either I will give up on these overpriced toys
