X55 Rhino Button Layout with Reference Card

I've enjoyed the time with my Thrustmaster T.Flight . However, not enough buttons or hats (using Voice Attack too!) so today I ordered a X55 from Amazon. Really looking forward to trying out some of your excellent profiles guys.

just picked one of these from Amazon for a steal at £120. they were £155 for ages but I had camelcamelcamel watching it and amazon sudenly droped the price on wednesday evening to £120 then back up to £155 by 9pm on thursday and now they are at £130 so if you want one get it quick!!

hope this helps someone else :D
Dammit, I paid £154 for mine...those are the breaks I suppose!

Update (v1.3) to my X-55 Ultimate Profile has just gone live.

Finally Updated for v1.2 (Wings Update)!

Multiple changes in this version:

- Profile now has a Mode Switch on Both the Joystick (Mode #1) & Throttle (Mode #2) to accommodate new keys. (This allows the hat switches on the Joystick to map to 2 keys!)
- Default for Throttle is now Full Range (Old Reverse Key still mapped if you want to change back - REMEMBER TO CENTER THROTTLE WHEN YOU START THE FIRST TIME!)
- Added ALL new Wingman Bindings to Hat switch
- Added System Map Binding
- Added Debug Camera Binding
- Added Target Next Route Binding
- Added 4 new Throttle presents for 0%, +75%, +100% & -100%
- Moved Chaff Launcher, Microphone Mute, Ship Lights & Target Next/Prev (non-hostile)
- Swapped Comms & Sensor Panel keys

For those using previous versions, my apologies for the delays getting this update to you. The Wings patch dropped at the worst time for me IRL! Hope it was worth the wait. You will only need to update the Elite Dangerous Key Bindings profile. All other profiles remain unchanged this time.

Please report back any issues found. I am currently out exploring far outside the bubble, so some keys I cannot full test such as the combat & wingman bindings.

Thank you.

Awesome! Thatnks for the work you put in on this! Looking over it, it looks great. I think the only thing I will change for now is leaving the thrusters on the witch hat as I do not mess with wings yet....

I have a question. I am fixing to mess around with Voice attack. One of the tutorials mentions that I must set up ED for keyboard and mouse and use the right side bindings for the X-55. Do you think I will have any issues setting up voice attack with your Saitek profile setup?

Thank you! I have been meaning to try VA myself, but from what I understand, it simply needs a keyboard binding for the required action. Most of the functions have 2 slots to map to, so you should (I expect) be able to keep the Joystick binding directly and then add a second keyboard binding for the same. There are some that have both slots mapped though so might need some minor changing around. Either way, this is the same as I have done to map some of the macros etc into the Saitek software - should be the same in VA.

Oh by the way, the Thrusters are still mapped in this build. They are on the lower hat switch and remain unchanged, but I did move the Next/Prev non-hostile target from the upper hat switch to add the Wingman keys.

Brilliant, many thanks

No problems at all! :)

Also ... Just going to upload a small update in the hour or two. The only change will be for the debug camera. Need to add Space/Enter key in a macro so it will bypass that annoying popup message directly before entering the camera mode. Please check back later if it annoys you like it does me LOL :)

1.3.1 Minor Update:

- Added Bypass for confirmation screen popup on Debug Camera (Throttle Toggle Only!). Please update your Saitek profile to the new one included to add this macro.
- Added Safety measure to Jettison All Cargo toggle key, now requires Mode Switch #1 to be pressed. No risk of accidental press now down direction is mapped!
- Added TrackIR Center Key (HOME) on TGL4: Down

I wont be updating the reference map for these small changes & have removed the pics from the zip file. Please download v1.3 for those.

Cheers!

FYI I've rather tardily updated the reference sheet generator to include the 1.2 commands. As always, if there are any issues with it please reply in this thread or PM me.

I got around to updating to the latest profile. Thanks again for letting us use it.

One word of warning for others that upgrade not only Aussie but other X-55 bindings. I upgraded mine and when I launched at the station my ship immediately started going into reverse. Banging in the walls and chipping away at the shields. I hit pause and loaded the older version and left the station in time. I noticed the throttle binding range was set to full instead of forward only. So this made the 0 position on the X-55 be full reverse. All is well now but it could have been really bad with a different shield than my vulture. :) Just a heads up. From now on I will chage profiles outside the station. :)

Thanks for bringing that up! I should have made it a bigger warning.

I think to be on the safe side for future updates I will change it back to the toggle rather than full range for the default version (and will just change it my end).

Easy enough to change, but would hate for someone to loose a ship by accident :)

Aussiedroid, thank you for putting all the work into these bindings and making them so easy for us X55 owners to configure! You da man. If you do update the graphic showing the bindings please do upload it. I'm having trouble finding the combo to enable the debug camera. Thanks again!

The Debug Camera is on Toggle 3 (TGL3) on Throttle. Press the toggle in the down direction (Opposite to the Auto Docking).

Cheers mate!

Edit: Oh and make sure you are running the updated Saitek profile as well as the newer ED profile. :)

buttons mixed up??

Hi Aussiedroid

I need to thank you for your hard work on this profile. So.. THANK YOU! :)

But one question I couldn't answer myself is buggin me for days now. Since english is not my first language I try to explain as good as possible:

In the Saitek Software when i check the Keys of the Throttle it shows me all the correct keys when I click on them with my mouse.
example: if I click with my mouse on the SLD key on the picture then the sld in the list on the right side lights up.

Same goes for the Buttons H3 and H4

BUT: if I now press any direction on the throttle for H3, it lights up H4 in the list. Same for H4...if I press H4 then H3 in the list lights up...

This does not happen with the original Saitek profile.

Was this done on purpose?

Hope you can help me with that.

Hi Spacecube,

Firstly - is something not working for you? By this I mean in-game, do the Power Schemes and PIP management work (These are the two lots of controls mapped to H3 & H4)

If it is not working, I might need some more info to figure out what is going on. The only thing that comes to mind is that ghosting issues some X55 users experienced, where keys would randomly press even when not pressing the key. Users overcome that plugging the controllers into another USB port. If it is just those two hat switches though, that is certainly strange.

H3 isn't mapped in ED as this is soley done through the Saitek profile. H4 is only mapped through ED and not through the Saitek profile. Might be why its not appearing to work properly.

Anyways let me know more :)

I didn't scan all the posts on this thread so it may have already been mentioned but a lot of folks, me included have problems with the x-55 on Win 8. While I quite like my X-55 I wish i'd spent the extra cash and bought a CH system instead.

Hi Aussiedroid

Now that I have been playing ED for a while I can say that all the buttons are all working. I was just wondering, why the H4 and H3 are mixed up in the Saitek Software using your profile but not with the standard ED Profile that Saitek offers on their site.

I actually had to redo the mapping in ED for some of the keys, because they didn't work. This applied to 2 or 3 of the mode switches. After mapping those again and confirm, it all worked very well.

I now just need to to some more adjustments that fit better to me.

Many thanks again for your great work!
