Xbox One S: Resolution setting gone?

Hey fellow CMDRs,
I ugraded from a 720p display to a 1080p one (about time, I know...). I was looking forward to playing ED in Full HD but I’m left with a poorly upscaled 720p version that looks worse than before. The Options/Graphics dialog has no option to change resolution, only 5 options (field of view camera shake, idle hand movement, dashboard brightness and one more that I currently forgot - can post a screenshot if it helps).
Xbox is definitely set to 1080p and uses this setting in the Home screen.
Already uninstalled & reinstalled the game.
I’m lost at this point and quite unhappy that my display upgrade made my ED experience worse!!
Any pointers?

The console has a GLOBAL resolution out put FOR every game you don't set resolution per game this is set in the dashboard not each game...

The base model console Never has Game engine out put resolution choice because the game engine is FIXED to what Fdev think they can get out of the cobra engine on the restricted hardware...
The HDMI out put chipset will out put a 1080p HDMI signal constantly when set in the dashboard but that does not mean the game engine actualy will...
This is why companies like digital foundrey have become popular as they deep dive in to what each game engine is generating on the hardware but I dont think they ever did any of the cobra engine games...

When the Xbox is in 720p mode it was staill rendering the game at what ever resolution FDEV set and then scale that to 720p...
But as viewers of digital foundrey mostly know the Xbox one OG and Xbox one S have very few titles that ever run at 1080p its been lower to keep frame rate higher...

There is no resolution setting in the game on Xbox One S, only on Xbox One X. Elite on S runs at 1080p natively, always has, unless Frontier changed this in the past years (I doubt so). You can set the Xbox One S console itself to output at different resolutions. If you recently changed your TV then maybe the console still uses some of the previous settings. I suggest you check them all again, or in a worst case scenario reset factory settings on the console while hooked up to the new TV (you can do this without deleting installed games).

Always been 1080 on XBox One.
It looks rather nice on 720 because it's rendering natively at 1080, the same supersampling effect you get if you run it on an X hooked up to a 1080 TV.
