You Know You're A Real Explorer When...

When you are completely distracted from fighting for your minor faction's independence by a mars-like planet with liquid lakes, huge ice caps, and a highly inclined and highly eccentric orbit.

When you find an old app on your smartphone portraying the postions of constellations around earth in 3D...

...and you start searching for things you've visited. It has Barnard's Loop in its background graphic, yay!

When you honk and think "No new astronomical objects???? That's the third system in a row! ... Oh, there are planets on my radar: I'm back in the bubble."

The number of times I've jumped into a system, sat holding the ADS button only to get 'No new bodies discovered', look at the radar see planets and be really confused and only then remember I'm backtracking slightly to get out of a dead end...

You put screenshots of ELW's as your desktop wallpaper on your work computer and watch your colleagues faces as they try to figure out what country they're looking at.

Nice one !

... When Zulu Romeo gives you rep for a post in this thread. The Hype, The Glory ! :D

When you hear the words "I could do that in 6 jumps and 3 minutes" come out of your mouth when someone complains to you that 200ly is too far to travel and takes too long.

... you can fuel-scoop flawlessly at full speed while watching another screen.

... you can figure out in less than a second - what is worth scanning / what type of planets you're looking at - in a system once you open the map.

... you still fit you PvP ships with a scanner.

... when you know that fast means 2000 Ly/h.

When I returned from my trip last year, I almost forgot to ask docking clearance and needed to think which button was my landing gear.

When you start hearing all sorts of sounds that aren't there, and start speaking to your pot plants.

You're a true explorer when the pot plant starts talking back...

Of course, all explorers need pot plants. :D

When you are on the verge of space madness and you still can't stop yourself from logging in "to check one more thing."
