You Know You're A Real Explorer When...

When you get 9kly out, something gets glitchy on an orbital glide transition (1 minute, not good), and when you leave glide you slam full speed into a planet, explode... and shake it off cause it's only 9kly.

you get a visit from the local Police, asking you to stop bugging NASA and ESA, as you keep asking them for a job as a pilot, and telling them where they are going wrong.

When you have no friends any more, all the plants are dead, you haven't eaten in three days, the cat has left home, you've lost your job, your teeth have gone green, your clothes can stand up by themselves, the floor is covered in beer cans, the lawn is a carpet of three foot high weeds, the divorce papers lie unread by the letter box, your eyes have gone from red to purple, the roof has started leaking, and HEY!!! Another shiny!!!! :D:D:D

When you remap your XBOX controller so you can do every exploration-related thing with just one hand. [yesnod]

...

Then upon leaving the station after turning data in, you press R-stick down instinctively for alternate flight control but the system map loads as your ship rams the inside wall of the station.[blah]

Heart skips a beat.

Luckily shields held, whew, but that was the longest system map loading screen I ever saw

I'm not saying that this isn't a very gorgeous game but really?

Haha no! The spare hand isn't for self pleasuring. Yuck! There wouldn't be any hands leftover to catch the tadpoles!

I just needed a hand to hold my beer while exploring. The proof is on my stream!

My Twitch stream!

I'm not winning am I.

... When you have to make up things about beers and twitching exploration. Who watches exploration livestream ? Not a true explorer.

You're used to seeing the 'throttle up to engage' message because you anticipated the FSD and zeroed the throttle a tiny fraction of a second too early...

When a galmap full of brown dwarfs fills you with joy because it means you're far enough back in from the absolute edge of the galaxy that the unscoopable layer is back and you can now plot more than 80ly at a time again.
