You know you’ve lost your player base when.....

Or he's just creatively devoid ;)

I wouldn't say that.

Devoid, maybe. Not creatively devoid, though.

Honestly, if you take him for what he is - a crass entertainer that raises valid and well researched points under the guise of a rabblerouser - he's quite enjoyable. I watch a number of streamers for Elite and he's my second favorite after Obsidiant Ant, though during the FC nonsense I liked him more than OA even just because he's more than happy to tell it how it is. Exigeous is good about that, too.

But, back on topic, Elite really is feeling stale lately on the live scene.

Nothing romantic about it, we really like to drive to France to go camping, fantastic country for that.
But the traffic in Paris is the pure horror for a poor country boy like me.
Especially with a caravan, I get nightmares only thinking about driving to Paris with it

Was only kidding around mate ;)

Paris is rough to drive around like London is too - I think to happily drive around some EU capitals, you probably need to be a city native, or have a very thick skin!

He occasionally makes valid points, but to me, he's just another tryhard YouTuber trading on the increasingly tiresome angry-edgy gamer schtick, which I find rather contrived and disingenuous. There are a few people who can pull that persona off well but, for me, he's not one of them.

And the "happy to tell it how it is" line is just another tired, meaningless cliché. If you agree with his points and like his style, that's fine. But let's not pretend that he even comes close to representing what the entire player base thinks or wants. ED has a diverse community with a multitude of viewpoints and rarely finds consensus on anything.

The biggest problem this game ever had was utilising humanity as its playerbase and listening to them too much.
Individual aspects weren't allowed to grow because of the fighting.
Mind you, since explorers have been granted invulnerable space hoppers, maybe creating some pp pvp and associated options might be nice.
I'm not a pvp player but even i can see when things have been pushed too far in one direction.
And since credits seem plentiful and easily available(trade buff), rebuys are far less of a concern than they were for new players.
There just seems to be a lot of experienced players who don't know what to do, or find npc's unchallenging, so create something for them.

Thanks for the update Frontier Developerments!

It would seem FDev rarely find consensus, too...at least that's in common! =D

Agreed on all points, including the clichés. Part of why I enjoy OA as much as I do. I'm a fan of Morphologist for SC...though I don't play SC (no PC these days)...for similar reasons. I'd say Elite could use more streamers for all kinds, but they'd need more to discuss first. Here's hoping August (eventually) brings something more substantial than announcements of announcements.

...it’s 3 days after a patch dropped and Obsidianant has made 3 MS Flight Simulator videos and no Elite Dangerous video about the update.
MSFS 2020 is more interesting at the moment. What shall OA talking about ED? For me I'm more into MSFS 2020 especially the upcoming VR Support :) I'm glad no worry about FDEV disappointments over disappointments anymore. Time to move on.
