Two restarts later, message still there...its messing with me karma gonna end up stickin me fist in its throat its lookin at me funny ^

It will be a good idea to have your Xbox and TV on standby, they simply gonna maintain themselves download and install updates, defrag HDD so game run smother and so on.

And have those two things on standby will have no influence on the environment, so don't worry about that. There are other things we use or do in our daily life that will have a more negative effect on the environment if we turn of don't use it, like transport, clothes we have on our body, mobile phone etc....

Honestly, it still surprises me that many people don't switch off their consoles when not playing. That "instant-on" mode uses so much electricity that I'd never leave my Xbox like that. Interesting how in the last few years the concept of this "power cycle" and "hard reset" became such an issue for a lot of players. Whereas for me it's always been a given to switch completely off what I don't use.

Aye, overall the Xbox is performing a lot better if you just turn it off.

Does the basic power-off choice on the blade menu clear the cache, too? The "Full Shutdown" in the Settings menu does, the "hold the guide button" option does not. But I've never shut it down with the "Turn Off Console" or "Restart Console" options on the blade menu.

"Turn off console" clears it. It's a full shutdown.

I think you need to restart or push and hold Xbox button on the Console for 10 sec.
So I f you turn off your Xbox and it had a bug somewhere in the system, it will also be there when you turn your Xbox on again. The reason I think so is, A Windows 10 computer you need to restart to clear it, you can change that in the settings so it also clear when make a shutdown.
