Your 2023 Game Watch List

Having seen some shots of the Rogue Trader I'm not so sure anymore. I liked the concept of being more independent and not having to be a hateful dig. They should maybe make a Tau game for me. I'm getting a bit tired with the hate-filled Imperial tropes.

Deliberately of course...Microshaft are really pushing gamepass. I don't mind the subs services...I sub to most of the available ones...but I have an eclectic taste in games and I spend most of my retirement playing them so it suits me in that sense. 🤷‍♂️
I can see it’s a model that will suit a great many, I’m still trying to catch up on my KickStarter backlog. Plus I do enjoy Civilization, especially V and VI. I go back to it time and again, knowing that ‘just one more turn’ urge will eat into my retirement time that should be being used more ‘productively’ ;)

Starfield just to sit in the cockpit for a start...coming Sept 2023.

There's quite a few this year I'm looking forwards to.

Forspoken already came out, but that was a bit disappointing and terrible optimised

Returnal the PC release. That game is amazing!

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in April

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in May

Diablo IV in June

Baldur's Gate 3 I will probably pick up at some point

Starfield in September (possibly, maybe, I really hope the 10 month delay is worth it)

It's a very busy year and I am apparently not going to be spending money on much else 😂

You can’t be talking ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ because it’s available on macOS and therefore, by definition, not a ‘real’ game :)
Real game's can be on Macs, but real gamers don't use them ;)

Ouch! But so true, LOL. Even when I was a Mac fan, back before Jony Ive destroyed macOS, I used a console for gaming.

It's sad that I now have a Windows computer that's more stable and reliable than my old Mac. On the other hand, I got a whole lot more computer for less money, so maybe it's not so sad after all!

I got sucked in to Paradox scheme of endless DLC's. And now that Total War:Wh3 has released their main game feature, DLC's will probably become the focus for the remaning of the game support. ( Also i wish all of this would have been Elite Dangerous DLC's 🥺).

But this is a really good year for games.

There is also Phantom Liberty DLC should see the light this year.

Hard to believe it has been over 2 years since game release.

Yeah I'm looking forwards to it too, to a certain extent. It's just a shame they never delivered the game they said they were going to, despite the many undoubted improvements it finally started getting a year after release.

It says a lot when I'm still playing TW3 but have only played through CP2077 the once and never went back 🤷‍♂️

I started another playthrough of Witcher when they released the HD rework recently. There are parts of Night City that I love wandering around, and I'm most content just looking for cool little things or places to take good screenshots, of which I have many. The world has so much potential, but it's still not quite the "living, breathing" city I expected it to be.

They still have a long way to go, at this point I don't see how that would ever happen, they oversold it by 1000%

Space Bourne 2 has made my list primarily because there appears to be plenty of places to explore and mine. This video ^^ answers a lot of questions, most I did not know the answer to. There's also a vid in the SB2 thread about exploration.
Of course I'm also interested in Starfield and some of the new DLC coming for X4 and ME.
Warno looks good for a RTS wargame. I have Steel Divisions 2 but have not play it much but Warno is peaking my interest in this type of game.
Nebulous: Fleet Command is another one I'm watching closely.
I would like to see a WWII era naval surface combat game come out but I haven't seen any yet that looked good (any suggestions I've missed?) I'm playing too much WoWs lately.
That's it for now but I know I'll see more here that makes me curious.
Have a nice day

I think WoWS cornered that niche and fully occupies it - I'd also happily play a single player game that has the same detailed combat mechanics, and without having to contend with brainless randoms who park their BB on map borders until the end of the fight. Unfortunately we have to make do with what we have, maybe a few bot games in WoWS but these are not satisfying at all as bots are completely idiotic.

Also looking forward to that CP2077 DLC. I know that CDPR are really good at doing DLC that are better than the base game.
