No idea.

I am planning on waiting until some sort of specs are published about the technical game requirements, supported interfaces (joysticks etc), possible screen resolutions and take all that to my PC shop (where they built my current PC) and just say: I want to play this - sell me stuff to make it possible...

Then I'll go home and cry over my bank balance.....

Using a 22" 1920x1080 screen at the moment. While I will be upgrading my pc sometime at the end of this year/beginning of next year, I doubt I will be changing my screen. I do not have space for a larger screen, so it will have to do.

I'll play at 2560x1600, hopefully.

My main gaming screen is 2560x1600 and my nVidia GTX 680 seems happy enough to play games at that resolution; Skyrim, Dishonored, XCOM, StarCraft, Diablo at least seem to mostly be 60fps, the refresh rate of the monitor, quite happily. WoW has a harder time coping, probably an older engine or simply CPU bound.

(all those above are with maxed out visual settings).

If there's any meaningful dual monitor support in E:D then I've a 1600x1200 second screen.

Hopefully I'll be using Oculus Rift, but if not, probably 1080p, if it runs okay at decent GFX settings. Will probably be looking to upgrade my GFX card, once it becomes clear what's needed to get pretty results.

Might try it on my projector if my new PC is small enough to move about easily and the graphics are good enough. Don't need to upgrade just yet though so no idea what normal use will be other than I'll use multiple monitors.

I had to downgrade years ago from a lovely 2048x1536 CRT to a boring 1080p LCD.
Damn you manufacturers holding back the industry for no reason
Us PC users should all have huge resolutions by now.

Same here, 2560x1600 on a GTX680, flies along in everything I've thrown at it so far.

1080p is still quite decent anything above requires a 2Gb plus Graphics card :)

Visuals will be a big part of the game. It would be interesting to see what kind of display people will be using. Please indicate your display in the poll.

Anybody using an IPS?
Anybody with 120 Hz refresh rate?
Anybody using a projector, for an awe inspiring, cinematographic experience on their wall?

Perhaps you will upgrade your hardware for this game. Maybe you will get a new graphics card as well as display.

I wonder if E : D has been optimized for a particular resolution. What is it?

btw, how do you write E : D without it becoming a smiley?

Thats really not true... I used to play lotro on dx 10 at 2048x1536 no issues at all on an old 8800gtx with 768mb.

The cool thing about the small pixels and high resolution is that you dont need anywhere near as much aa to reduce jagged edges. My old CRT even with AA turned off gather a far better image than my 120hhz 1080 hd LCD with 8xAA :(. Physically big ugly pixels just cant be worked around with any amount of anti aliasing. Tiny soft edged pixels work great as they are.

Traditional Anti aliasing quite literally rendered the image internally at high resolution then approximated that to the real resolution to make a "best fit" image. This gives quite a performance hit. Actually rendering the image once at native high resolution with small pixels instead will give you a far better image for far less performance hit.

I use a TV these days so most likely 1080p. And playing on the couch with a Xbox 360 controller.

I would also like to see this on the Macbook so at least 1080p there too. :)

Thank you very much, el_tel! That is very helpful. I can do it now:
