Or years even! But belated thanks for your votes gunbladelad & nOmArch
I voted for FE2.. It was a tough choice but ultimately it is the version of Elite that I have spent most hours playing. I played the c64 and Amiga versions of Elite extensively though, gaining "Elite" status in both
I still have the Amiga Format/CU Amiga magzines at home with all the previews of Frontier: Elite 2 and I remember calling the local computer games shop every couple of weeks to see if the game had been released. After months and months of waiting, one Saturday morning my Dad came home from work (he was on a nightshift) with a brand new boxed copy of Frontier: Elite 2 for me which he had picked up on the way home
Suffice to say the whole weekend was spent exploring the new universe. I even went to the newsagent and bought some plastic protective book sleeves for the manual and novellas inside.
I still have my Amiga and that copy of FE2 - I actually booted it up a few months ago and was very glad that the original disks are still readable.
(I still have the c64 and Amiga boxed versions of Elite too, one of which David has very kindly signed for me Oh, and the original Frontier Elite 2 t-shirt that you could send off for!
Now thats what you call a first post
It was Elite on Amiga for me.
I played Elite original wireframe one on a cousins BBC model B. And Elite on my own Spectrum and CBM 64. But the best version of the standard Elite for me was on my Amiga. Filled 3D gfx! Awesome.
There's a few Amiga fans on here as wel |(myself includedl...Cue Geraldine
I think the poll would be more informative if all Elite-likes and all Frontier-likes were merged.
Hi V3teran
I too always liked the clean lines of the Amiga version of FE2 and thanks for your vote
I upgraded to an Amiga and bought the game again. That was a great conversion, but there was something about those wireframe graphics!!
